It is. But it will give you a good 8 months to listen to the album to see if you like it though. What's happening in December?

Some good tracks. A lot of filler.

Going to see them at Eden in the summer

Don't want to freak you out, but there's a lot of other music in the world which, believe it or not, is quite good.

But yeah...new Chemicals is banging.

It's well put together and some imaginative samples - but nothing that gets near the heights of the private psychedelic reel or escape velocity.

What is fantastic though is the debut album by W.H Lung - Incidental Music. If you like 10 minute electronic epics with an 80s sting.

Love most music, I'll check out that one mate. Just cooking a fry up for me and my dad while the chems e-mix is on. 3rd espresso kicking in. It's about as hardcore as it gets when you're 43.

I tried and kept waiting for it to get good. It didn’t. 😉

New DJ Yoda album out today too!

Got this yesterday, it's great. Very chilled soulful hip-hop-y type thing. Really enjoying.

Well the rest of the album is underwhelming. The three singles are so much better than the rest.

I'm mah.

I don't even think the singles are the standout tracks. Great pop album.

Loving the album, but agree with those saying that the singles were well chosen, and that much of the rest is low key (unlike the last album that was all killer no filler). The opening 3 tracks in particular sound like a DJ mix of rejected Chem Bros ideas. Still fun though.

That's not ****ing annoying at all. Sadly the whole bloody album is the same, either repetitive annoying samples or so much noise it sounds like something you would play in a Guantanamo bay detainees cell. And it went peak bollocks with the track that sounded like they were playing a fire alarm over the top (interspersed with another annoying sample). Thankfully Spotify battered In Dust We Trust onto the end and I was reminded they're not actually toddlers let loose with a sample library.

So that's a fat nope from me.

Quoting the lyrics from dance tracks? Cool, yeah.

so much noise it sounds like something you would play in a Guantanamo bay detainees cell
Now, that sounds bloody fab.

Any alternative suggestions for new albums we should be listening to, squirrelking...?

It's an opinion, get over it. I'm not telling anyone not to listen to it.

My point about the lyrics wasn't about the wide range or lack thereof, it's about the annoying repetition at the end that goes on far too long.

As someone else said it sounds like a collection of reject tracks, compared to everything else they've done its piss weak. It happens. I'm not losing sleep over it nor will they if they ever read this.

Sadly I have to agree with Squirrelking on this. My mate bought 4 tickets to go see The Chemical Brothers in Birmingham, one bought for me before asking if I wanted to go. Based on the new album I don't want to go.

Sheeeeyat you know you're old when you're saying "the lyrics are a bit repetitive aren't they dear?" All that doof doof untz untz.....

I like it. It's very, Chemical Bros. That being said, lots of it was produced on old equipment used on other albums.

I went through a phase of playing "Go" when I first heard it. Loved it. To the point where my 5 y/o said "Oh no, not Chemical Brothers AGAIN Dad?" which reminded me of Peter Kay saying "Goo on, put a bit o Smack ya bitch up for your Mum"

It is classic chemicals and it isnt. I mean, It Doesn't Matter follows a similar formula but its not the whole album. Similarly HBHG uses a loop but at least the rest of the tune has a hook.

In fact that's what it is, it's half a strip of Velcro. All loops and no hooks.

Anyway, if you like it enjoy it, I'm away to listen to the other recommendations.

Song For Alpha is a fantastic album and his Essential Mix is a good one too. Definitely a headphones kind of listening. My poor van stereo doesn't do it any justice.

Oooh I like that Daniel Avery. Few mins in and I'm thinking it's a mellower Selected Ambient Works of a certain Twin. ;o) Sounds lurvely. It's definitely headphones listening.

That's exactly what I think about that Visible Gravity track/album he gave away.

I'm saving the rest for later...It's not going to be nightmare inducing is it? AFX is certainly not bedtime listening.

I've gone back to last night's King Shiloh mix on Red Light Radio. 1030pm here, glass of Shiraz and I'm trying to get back to Perth time. I've been knackered all day and refused to sleep. Now it's bedtime-ish and hurrah I'm wide awake.

Here, you want nightmare.. Flying Lotus announced new album, Flamagra, with a beautifully unhinged David Firth collaboration video. Oh yes.

Just do a search for king shiloh on FB if should come up then. It's usually a weekly show.
