Yup just back from the Italians with the kids and getting the youngest sorted for bed, then going to give it a go.

Sky+ set to record and appropriately enough my two year old is currently running around naked apart from her towel that she's using as a super hero cape and making whoosh noises. All in all a pretty good evening.

It's perfectly watchable, but by 'eck it is cheesy.

Corrie will come back on at 8:30 so it's been series linked.

Brilliant. That's my new second favourite current TV show.

Gunn! Shepherd Book! What's not to like.

Obviously just a 'setting up' episode, but not at all bad. Happy to be in obviously Whedon territory within the first few minutes -

"and what does that tell you?"
"That somebody really wanted our initials to be SHIELD"

"Sorry, that corner's really dark - I couldn't resist it"

Haven't watched it yet, is it suitable for a 6 year old? Junior really wants to watch it, loves all that stuff

Hm, I don't see why not. You could always watch it yourself first, then you get to watch it twice.

Monkey, apart from the crispy body, I'd say it was ok for a young lad

Scant, I'm glad it didn't come out all guns blazing, early days but it fits in the larger world of the films so should be immersive

"disaster? no its an origin story"

typical Whedon referential stuff (not a bad thing). Bright, upbeat lightweight saturday evening type TV but none the worse for it, and enough Whedon influence in the dialogue/writing to keep me interested. Will stick with it and its a refreshing change from Wire/Breaking Bad boxsets I'm currently working through.

This is going to be required Sunday evening viewing from now on, I think. Not watched it yet, but really looking forward to sitting back and watching it tomorrow. I always love little references to other series and films, Castle has done it, with references to Firefly/Serenity, and I've seen all the Marvel movies too.

Better than I expected. Didn't take itself too seriously which was nice.

“Say 'cheese'”
“That was a porcupine, not a poop” 😆
Thirteen minutes in, and I'm loving it. Good to see Gunn in it, and the Shepherd. Maybe they can find something for Alison Hannigan, now that How I Met Your Mother has ended.
