Can't wait. Just googled Nello to reacquaint myself with the man, the myth, the legend.... and found this picture that says more than any words.

TV still of Neil Baldwin, Lou Macari and reporter

I had to google what this was. I went to Keele Uni and Baldwin always hung out in the union - I never knew the story, still don't, so will watch this. Thanks!

Yea, I remembered him at Keele - played in the footie team so he was always about the place.

So good!

Not sure any other actor could have done that justice really.

Yeah lovely film. I was a pissed up idiot during most my time at Keele, wish I'd taken it in a bit more with characters like him about.

Great film. Real mixture of emotions watching that. Mostly grinning 😀

A group of us young uns were stood next to Lou Macari in the guards van on the train journey from Weston to Bristol ( we had our bikes and he had his dogs). Long time ago (must of been around '88), but i remember him being a friendly bloke

That was just lovely, had us giggling and laughing out loud. The various cameos were brilliant too.

"Did that really happen?"

"No"

It was indeed a great film - I just stumbled upon it last night (without ANY prior knowledge of the film or the man) but loved every minute of it.

Thanks for the PSA! What a lovely film about an amazing character. Just one of those great heart warming stories, all the Better for being true (well mostly, see “did it really happen like that” comment above).

I caught this by chance about 3/4 of the way through.

Toby Jones, slightly morose, subtle, acoustic sound track, lingering shots... I thought of you guys !!

48 times player of the year !!

Will watch from the start tonight

I was going to quote what Binners did above. That is my "go to" when I'm sliding into depression, it makes a huge impact my mental health. Utterly inspirational, one of my favourite films ever.
