Let's hope he has a holiday epiphany and withdraws from public life.

I know nothing about him except for what I hear on his show, which I like. Is he supposed to be a complete tosser in "real" life or does the dislike all come from his breakfast show? If it does, I don't get it. I mean, Moyles I can see.

I've just emailed this person letting him know how much I enjoy 6 when Keavney is away.
Please do the same.

Didn't used to like his show so much, like it now. Don't get how people can get so worked up by him, life is too short to get angry at someone on the radio.

Mr D.Side I'm not sure how old you are but some of us are an age where decent music on the radio was limited to an hour in the evenings.
To have a radio station like 6 that broadcasts fantastic music all day with amazing sound quality ( radio1 used to be am only) is a miracle.
It's too precious to have it ruined by someone from the bad old days.
Sure, other stations are available but I don't want to listen exclusively to any genre of music all day. 6 mixes it up and I am eternally grateful it exists.

Ha, thought there'd be a thread about this.

Not a big Keavany fan, but can tolerate him mostly. Craig Charles' Funk and Soul show is great, but I'm not sure I like him as a breakfast DJ.

Why does he pronounce Caribbean in an American accent?

Err, no. I quite like his show but I can see how some people don't understand him.

Patronising much? 😀 Keaveny has got decent taste in music though, he plays some cracking tunes, I just don't get the vitriol for him.

It's his "funny" voices and impressions that I can't be doing with in a morning. I would listen all the way in to work but he makes me channel hop when he starts.

I don't mind the music that he plays but the impression/sketchs that he attempts live in the past with DLT...

I started off liking him a lot, now I don't dislike him but he does get a bit samey - like apologising for a poor segment or something. Once or twice its funny, then you start thinking "hmmm, that was actually quite poor". Not sure how intentional it is after that.

I'd happily listen to Keavney all day, Craig Charles sounds like a bad actor doing an impression of what he thinks a hip DJ should sound like... This is for all you crazy cats out there..
😆

Didn't like his style at first and switched off and played music from my phone for a bit. Tried again when Nemone was covering for him and got back into listening to the Breakfast show. Gave him another listen when he got back and now really enjoy it. He does play some cracking stuff. My wife hates his style though!

I like his music he plays but I prefer to listen to Chris Moyles' chatter 😳

However I'll happily listen to Craig Charles while both the above are on holiday.

Keavany's hit & miss; some days he has a spark, other days he's just going through the motions.

I used to listen to R6 every morning and evening for about 3 years, but then found NTS and WFMU, I only really go back for Ravenscroft and the Freakzone these days.

WFMU and NTS can be a bit to weird sometimes but I'd rather chance it than go back to the impressions, does he still do them?

No it isn't. When he's talking to Brian Cox, that's Brian Cox. When he's doing an impression of Brian Cox, that's him doing an impression of Brian Cox. Subtle difference, I can see how you got confused.
