I was nearly in it, paid as extra, hairy kilted bloke running down hill, but never made it on screen.
Still awaiting the directors cut with extra hairy kilted people running down hills

It's a shame they had to knock down the ruins of his wee hoose at the top of Glencoe to make way for Hogwarts.

From nbts link

YOU TAKE THAT BACK RIGHT NOW. BOTH OF YOU. The acting in Highlander is second to none, the accents are a deliberate and clever comment on globalisation and assumptions of nationality that... oh bollocks, I can't do it.

The accents are silly. The special effects are crap, the swordfights are pitiful and it's more 80s than Cyndi Lauper rollerskating with a pair of deely-boppers, but I chuffin' love this film. There was a while there at college when it was the only video my player would accept. There are flashes of total brilliance, like the camera panning up from the wrecked car park, through the concrete, and emerging in Medieval Scotland. Clancy Brown. The swords.

As a piece of theatrical entertainment its one of the best IMHO.

The soundtrack is only rivalled in the movie-soundtrack greatness stakes by Flash and Tron: Legacy

Right, I'm off to listen to some Queen followed by Daft Punk...

I had the pleasure of using Hagrid's hut as firewood when I lived in Glencoe. It was made of plywood.

Worst film I've ever seen! Only time I've ever walked out of the cinema.

always loved the film - climbing mates of mine used to talk of hordes of plywood swords being found round the Quirang and below the Cioch..

colleague who hated it donated me the video, friend for life!

For some reason this film passed me by completely. I only watched it about six months ago having heard great things about it for many many years. I really enjoyed it but the bit where Connery died made me laugh. Where exactly was Lambert when this happened?! Did he just go for a little walk?! Good stuff though

Was my favourite film for many years...
Yes it's 80s... That is half the charm now.
Highlander 2 was just shockingly rubbish (IMO).
Number 3 not too much better (IMO), but at least it tried to carry on where 1 left off...
The Quickening, where they link it to the TV series... Hmmm...

None as good as the first... Some great camera work as has been said...

+1. Tremendous film. I'm banned from watching it as I can't but help recite it whilst watching.

it's one of those films where how you remember it is far better than how it actually is. for this reason, I refuse to watch it.

Love Highlander. No, it's not perfect, but it's great entertainment, despite its flaws.

Worst film I've ever seen! Only time I've ever walked out of the cinema.

That'll be Highlander 2, then. Didn't walk out, but I was appalled at how every plot device in the first film could be just thrown out. It made no sense, and even internal continuity was screwed up. Dreadful film.
Did enjoy the third one, though, as the continuity was restored.

Always liked Roxanne Hart (Female detective) and saw her
in a theatre drama in New York many years ago.

A fair few of my pals from school are in it, during the village scenes filmed in Glen Nevis,
where did the time go!
