Managed to catch half of this. The castle was wonderful. However I can't help but think that it's going to cost way more than 8 million to restore.

Huw Edward's current series on the history of Wales has been quite interesting so far.

OK just caught up on the first one. Interesting stuff and always amazing to see these individuals who are so passionate about their causes.

Doing well for interesting programs currently, watched some of Hidden Wales which was quite an eye opener.  Has anyone been watching Portillo's Hidden History of Britain?  Extraordinary buildings especially the fire station in Manchester.  Also just finished watching some of Operation Iceberg, wowsers!  Worth catching on i-player and second part next week.

I work around the corner from the fire station. It's an amazing building.

It looks huge and families used to live in there apparently, goodness knows how they managed to sleep!

Been watching all three programmes mentioned - top-notch telly. Brian Cox’s programme about fusion power and stars tonight was fascinating as well.

So was the one about cats and their secret lives, the territory they can cover is astonishing.

Watched it last night and thought it was excellent, nice music too. It got me thinking was the 'eccentric' woman always that nutty or was it living in and working on that house by herself that done it to her?

We used to live near Caernarfon so it's quite interesting to see places that you knew about but had never visited: Manod Quarry where they kept the national art collection; Cwmorthin mine (there's a classic caving/mining trip in the mines next door); Gwrych(sp?) Castle. Didn't even know about Bryncir House though despite having gone past that wood countless times.

The Mid and South Wales episodes will be more revealing in that I've no idea what's there.
