In case you missed it, there's another half price tool sale at Halfords, eg 200 pce advanced ratchet and socket set £350 down to £160, 90 pce £150 down to £75
They are turning into the DFS of tools
Good tools, but I think Bahco when on offer at Amazon is better. I have lots of sockets from Halfords, Bahco and Facom and Bahco is best for the money.
Good tools. Lifetime replacement warranty. As long as you have receipt. I've used it. Kept that receipt safe for 6 years now!
Don’t need the receipt as the tools say Halfords advanced on so should be able to just walk straight in and get a replacement!
I bought the three stack of tool drawers just before Christmas and am going to pick up 6 more of the modular inserts tonight (taking total to 9). They are currently 3 for 2.

I've done exactly this - no questions, and as helpful as can be.
What actually goes wrong with such tools? Are we talking ratchet mechanisms or just worn so sockets don't fit snugly etc. (and is the latter really covered?)

I snapped the knuckle on an 18" breaker bar, split a 21mm deep socket and also trashed the ratchet on a 3/4" drive wrench, they replaced them no worries.
Sheared a long locking extension bar.
Bought a bunch of stuff from them including another long locking extension bar...... As I may have had it on an impact driver(while wearing a faceshield....j was well aware I shouldn't be doing it) at the time so didn't bother trying to warenty.
Casually mentioned that I was replacing a broken one and he put it through as warrenty
Top bloke.
Do like halfords for the ease of stuff like that.

How do you evaluate this?
for a start their 1/2 inch stuff isnt bihex .
bihex is great for rounding off stuff on old cars not so good for actually undoing anything.
unless its a bihex bolt(usually brake mounts or swivel mounts on old british motors) ill always start with a hex socket - which makes the bahco set much mroe useful than the box of 1 million bihex....
only halfords impacts and the 1/4" stuff are hex.
Good point, worth some investment there perhaps.
Just picked up 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" sockets sets and they are all full hex.
maybe its changed or maybe its just a way of getting folk to buy the sets in the space hogging trays they do.
just checked their 200 piece set is still bihex for the majority .
I picked up one these for work £20!
Could use a 100mm extension bar for the sockets , but apart from that its very useful if you have next to nothing to hand
