On google store black friday deal https://store.google.com/collection/offers?hl=en-GB
Cracking phone for that price!
Can't work out if there is another £100 off or not ?
The John Lewis on is already discounted by 100 quid but if you have a phone to trade in then they are giving you an extra 100 on top of the trade in value.
Your phone needs to be on the trade in list though which is linked to further down the page. The trade in values tend not to be great on JL in the first place though. Might find trade in at Google store might yield a better deal.
I had a Galaxy S8 to trade. Google were offering trade-in of £95, John Lewis were offering £38, but with the current offer it's £138. Means the 6a is only costing me £162! Pretty happy with that.
Worth checking both trade in options before buying, just in case some of the Google ones work out better.
Can get £179 trade on for my S10
So can get the 6a for £120
Pretty good deal for guaranteed updates for a few years.
Just need to work out if the camera is on par with the S10
Had one for most of a year and not my favourite phone. Camera's good, fingerprint recognition isn't, and just feels a bit clunky compared to the 4a or my iphone (and I don't like iphones).
Just need to work out if the camera is on par with the S10
6a camera is superior to the S10. Not just image quality but responsiveness of the camera app means I don't miss snapshots of the kids etc...
Seems to be the price for them now, not just a Google store sale.
That being said, I bought one from Google yesterday for our daughter and it was delivered 30 minutes ago, so top service.
Johnlewis trade in for a 3a is £30, Google store - £89, so worth checking if you are trading in. Decided to keep my 3a in the end, in case I don’t like the 6a. (after johnx2’s post)

Almost certainly a black Friday price thing for all retailers. Other retailers always tend to align with offers on Google store.
Pretty certain it will be back up to 349 or 399 in a couple of weeks.
How strict are Google with the trade in values? My 4a has a few scuffs on the back, from the case ironically but the screen, buttons, battery all work as they should. £150 for a new phones a good deal, if they only offer £75 for the trade in, £225 less so!
Well thats a bummer, my Moto G9+ is not on the trade in list for JL....
shame it doesn't do wireless charging
If you want wireless charging (never seen the point really - uses more energy for a given charge, heats the battery up more degrading life, USB charging is faster) then the Pixel 6 is £399 at JL, Argos etc... No extra trade in though it does benefit from the slightly better camera than the 6a.

I had an S10 wife has a 6A, they're both about the same. I've got all our holiday photos etc merged and when I flick through our family pics from both phones they all look equally good.
The only thing is, I really liked the optical zoom on the S10, I don't think the 6a has that.
edit- yes i just went and checked, only the 6 has optical zoom, not the 6a
Had one for most of a year
6a was only released at the end of July this year.

Wireless charging is great and it's literally all I use. Charger by the bed (acting as a clock) so the phone is 100% in the morning which then does me more than 24 hours - speed doesn't matter in this scenario.

Myth.... not true.

Really! Blimey. Must've got it when it came out. Most of half a year then and my cognitive decline continues even more rapidly than I'd realised. Either way, as a relative fan of past pixels, I have failed to fall in love with this one.
Myth…. not true."
Which bit is not true - the increased energy or the damage to the battery?
I thought/assumed it was less efficient - it was one of my guilty pleasures.
I made the same step of 4a->6a and think it is a far better phone.

Just the reassurance I needed - taking the same step. Offered £149 on trade-in too which is much more than other sites were offering.
Just ordered one as my moto G5 battery is on its way out.Cost me 299 at checkout, said that I'd get 110 trade in.When do I do the trade in and get the money back,do I do it when I receive the pixel 6a and serial number?John Lewis online
Cheers

damage to the battery.
Having had the USB port on my One+ get a bit dodgy I'm happier not being forced to use a cable.
How strict are Google with the trade in values?
My Pixel 4 had a slight mark on the screen, a deep but short scratch on the rear and some scuffs on the edges. Still got the £170 quoted trade in
Thread revival. My Motorola G50 has been less than overwhelming. Bought it just over a year ago but it's running dog slow. Reckon the 6a would be a good upgrade? It's still for sale at a number of places for around ~300 quid.
So I bought this; and it arrived and it's a "managed device" - ie a corporate OEM, so you can't control any of the settings.
I'm gonna have to go back to CPW.

Oh dear, that's not right. Was the box seal broken?
Same happened to a mate of mine, also Carphone Warehouse. They must have got a cheap batch.
One for BBC Watchdog?
So I picked up one of these to hold as a 'spare phone', which is a bit pointless now really I've realised..My OH is an apple fan so doesn't want it..
I've opened the pack to show her the phone (not turned it on/activated it etc) so can't bloody send it back...FFS...
Anyone here want it for, like, £270???
DrP
Where did you buy it from and how long ago? You should be able to send it back if within 14 days or within extended Xmas returns.
Distance selling allows you to open and inspect.
bought from Google store itself....

Currys/CPW should be investigated by watchdog/trading standards for their dubious approach to trading full stop, never mind supply of incorrect phones.
bought from Google store itself….
Just send it back. Free returns through your recent orders.
fab stuff! cheers!

Hot Deals UK has a code today for a 6a for 14 quid a month with 100GB of data (Three network, 2 year contract). No upfront cost, but will increase by inflation +4% in April. Still seemed like a stonking deal to me.
Thank you
These PSA's cost me a fortune son needed a new handset then the missus chips in that she's cracked her screen.
But for that money it's a no brainer.
I can't quite believe Google will trade in my partners 2 year old iPhone SE2 (128GB) for £250. That makes the Pixel 6a £49.
