Always wanted a set but could never justify the cost of most sets. Needed mainly for awkward car jobs like strut top mountings. This set has a reasonable range of sizes.

I have one of those and it’s done OK for the price but I’d worry about using it on anything needing a bit of oomph (not on my bike, in my shop). For stuff that isn’t corroded up/ridiculous torque it’s been super handy though

I didn't know these were also called 'go through'.  I bought mine (larger set) as they are low profile so you can get to bolts where a normal ratchet socket won't fit.

this is tempting, for exactly those car jobs you mention. I'm not sure a 1/4 or 3/8 would be up to scratch for those jobs though...

@spicer

I normally free the bolt with a spanner but then switch to the socket method when you can't swing the spanner properly.

Only done a strut once.  Offset spanner.

Had I even known go through sockets were a thing I might have gone tidy route but....I didn't.

Ordered, thanks for the PSA, also didnt realise these were a thing, would have been handy for a number of jobs. For that price worth taking a punt.

I have a set of those from Halfords - for the right jobs they are fantastic.
