I've just received my Forerunner 45 and was hoping to set it up with distance in miles and temp in C but I'm struggling.
The watch only has Statute and Metric options. There is no Statute UK. The Garmin Connect app has Statute UK for the app settings but nothing I can sync to the watch it seems.
Should the watch have Statute UK as a unit option?
Thanks
My grey Vivoactive 4 has just shipped. Delivery due Tuesday.
Finally mine has too.
Should the watch have Statute UK as a unit option?
Yes you can go to settings on the watch or the Garmin App to change them.
That's the problem Drac. Watch only has Statute or Metric options, no Statute UK.
App settings for watch only have Distance, not Units option like the watch. Setting Distance = miles changed temp to F on the watch.
The General App settings has Statute UK but this is just for the app and not the watch.
My Vivoactive 3 allows you to set it in the watch. Setting -> System -> Units
The temp readings are useless anyway IMHO.
Think I need to email Garmin. On the watch under Setting - System - Units its not there, only Statute and Metric.
@Old... There's no inbuilt temp sensor on the 45... It gets the weather from your phone via Bluetooth so was hoping it would be reasonably accurate.

Ahh of course, sorry I hadn’t considered the weather forecast.
I bought a forerunner 35 under the deal for £70 before realising you can't seem to get replacement straps that aren't rubber/silicon. I'm allergic to something in the standard straps so always change.
Not even opened the box, anyone want to buy it for the same price before I send it back for a refund? Think they are back up to 90 now.
Thanks
Simon

You can bet metal ones.
Oops! There 735 straps.
My warranty still isn’t here, should have paid an extra tenner and bought one of these 😣
830 ordered on 16th and still hasn’t shipped. Not exactly speedy...
Anyone know how much the fancy scales are with the blue light discount?

Are you still moving this on?
Cheers!

Just had a look and if you mean the Index they're £89.99 down from £149.99.
Just received delivery confirmation of my scales today at time of booking expected 5-8 weeks lead time.
2 weeks after I placed my original order, after numerous contacts with amazon my watch has arrived. (Well it’s my second ordered watch, my original order is lost in Amazon’s system somewhere
Time to lose a whole afternoon playing with it (then I’ll take a look at the watch etc etc)
I’d been weighing up getting one of the watches when this was first posted, but decided against it as I thought I don’t really need one but after spending 15 minutes looking for my Garmin Edge on Sunday, I decided to go for it as I’m always forgetting where I left it or forgetting to charge it.
I still had the tab open on my browser from a week or so ago and it still showed the Fenix 5X for £330 so I tried my luck to see if it would work. Just received shipment notification from Garmin, so well pleased with that.
Anyone want an Edge 130 HR bundle or an Apple Watch series 3? 😀
Is a Garmin 735XT any good?
Mine arrived today. Vivoactive 4 for me and a 3 for Mrs F. I forgot the joys of Garmin though and my 4 refuses to connect to the WiFi, any WiFi and keeps losing connection to my phone. Google tells me I’m not alone. Might be going back before the end of the week.
My 4 arrived today also and hooked up to WiFi no worries. Enjoying the extra functions that have now appeared on Connect having upgraded from my Forerunner 35.
I spoke to Garmin on Tuesday last week, they’re waiting for a batch of the 830’s. They should be shipping at the start of the month (next week fingers crossed)
Cheers 🙂
Fellow 830 waiter
Got my £50 accessories voucher via email today (Venu and Vivo4 purchases) which I thought I'd have zero chance on the back of a mega discount. Result!

Is a Garmin 735XT any good?
Yes: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2016/06/garmin-forerunner-735xt-in-depth-review.html (see the summary if you CBA to read the whole review).
I have both the 920XT and the 735XT, the 735XT looks better than 920XT. I like it on the whole, it has made the 920XT redundant, I have had some iffy HR reads when running but think down to tightness and position of band. I also don't like that it doesn't do elevation gained, I sometimes like to go out and see how much climbing I can do in a power hour.
I am looking at the Fenix 5 or 935XT for the elevation readings and *stealth ad* in the future sell my 920XT and 735XT.
Anybody else bought a Vivoactive 4 and can’t connect to any wireless networks? Loving the watch apart from this one flaw. Want to stick some Spotify playlists on it so I can leave the phone behind. Google is just pointing me to other people with the issue and not ways to fix it.
Bump, email from Garmin this morning saying my 130 is on its way! Due June 1st, yay!
funkmasterp, I've never used my 4 for music, just set it up there, no issues at all, locked onto my wifi, and now downloading my shazam playlist from spotify.

I have one and it's not much help but mine connected without issue. I just followed the instructions on initial set up and entered the password when asked. Maybe worth going back to factory settings and starting again?

Same, 830 on its way!
830 on its way too!
Finally got it to connect to WiFi. Just kept trying and it eventually connected and will now connect every time. It is a great watch and a huge step up from my original vivoactive.
For anyone that thought they had missed this deal and that the blue light card deal expired yesterday... the deal is still active with blue light and expires 31/5/21 now. Just bagged myself a vivoactive 3 for £112
My 830 arrived yesterday
Yup seems they extended it but a year or I completely misread the date.
Hmm, still waiting for my 830 and case, no emails.
Tried calling them, but lines closed due to Covid.
Hopefully it's on it's way if other people have started to get theirs.
Has anyone managed to get in touch with Garmin at all?
I’ve been waiting for a few weeks for an 830 (money was taken weeks ago), and on Monday UPS dropped off a sealed empty box! It did at least have the packing note in for the 830!
Anyway..I’ve sent an email, messages on Twitter/FB/Instagram and I’ve heard nothing back. Anyone have any suggestions!? I’d really like the computer but also never had a situation like this!
Try this 0808 238 0000
They're murder just now, comms are horrific, I can understand slow handling due to covid, but comms really shouldn't be affected. They've had my wifes Vivo 4s for 2 weeks now, usual warranty replacement is 2 days door to door.
Drac it has been extended for a year. It was definitely 31/5/20 initially as I had to wait for my blue light card to arrive (or so I thought). I ordered after the hduk thing had finished and it arrived on Monday so I thought I’d missed it again but when I checked it had rolled over for another year. 40% off garmin for a year is pretty good for a fiver.
Does anyone know how much a 530 is with a blue light card? I’m after one for Mrs racer and was wondering if now might be the time for her to get a blue light card.
£172.49.
But. My friend tried to get one for her hubby birthday on my recommendation based on rrp. She couldn’t get one- sold out- using the hduk deal, so the poor fellow is getting an 830 instead which at £240 is below the rrp of the 530.
Looks like they have stock to buy through blue light now though.
520 plus is £150 as well. I have one of these I paid £220 for a year or so ago and it’s a good bit of kit
Thanks for the replies, oldtennisshoes, I owe you for that number! Seems like it's going to be a long, drawn out affair to try and get it sorted..but least I managed to speak to someone.
👍
Anyone seen any comparable offers for Garmin ?
Only current one I’m aware of is the blue light card which is the same.

Find someone is.
My voucher code has been sent this am bad considering I emailed them on Monday, messed it up so sent it again last night. No idea what to use it on though.
Voucher code says 'accessories' which is a specific category on the Garmin website but I've not tried it to see if it can be applied to non-accessory stuff. Plan B is a HRM strap that ends up 'For Sale BNIB'.
Yeah I’m thinking a Tempe and maybe a speed sensor.
I’ve just tested it with none accessories and it worked. 😲

Are you?

Soooooooo 😈
Do you want to sell me your voucher?
😂

Anyone know how much a Forerunner 245 Music and a Forerunner 945 are with the Bluelight card?
Looks like there’s a discount through totum too
That's me just joined the VivoActive 4 club.I think the watch is just on the slightly "too big" side but hoping I'll just get used to it.
Must have just got a batch in, as the wife's replacement 4s arrived today too. Good to see they've not did their usual and sent a 'new refurbished unit' but actually a full new boxed watch.
Anyone know how much a Forerunner 245 Music and a Forerunner 945 are with the Bluelight card?
(245 music) £209
(945) not available
Thanks.
Perhaps we need a STW Garmin challenge.
i’ll take a look see how I can set one up.
I'd be up for that Drac.
Right hopefully this works Garmin software isn’t intuitive the share link seems broken too so I’m trying it this way.

I’ll create a dedicated thread soon too.
Well, I'm in!
You didn’t hang about I went back to the Garmin page the notification was there. 😂
Always handy to have someone test it!
Forerunner 735XT £179 on Amazon

Sorry to derail the thread...but wondering if anyone has any advice!?
I had ordered a computer on 20/5, and money taken etc....an empty, but sealed box arrived on 1/6/20. Since I have spent a lot of time on the phone to Garmin (thanks to getting a number from here)...but basically no further forward.
Initially they had said it was a UPS problem, but I just think they must have somehow not packed it at their end, as the box/seal etc were pristine. These things happen and trying not to cause too much of a fuss!
In short, it’s been almost a month since I paid, and I’m no further forward with getting a refund or the computer (which I would still quite like 😂)
Does anyone have any experience/ideas/suggestions!? Thanks!
Always handy to have someone test it!
And everyone on here is so well rehearsed in testing.
I'm on the lookout for a vivoactive 4s now. The Mrs' old v3 gave up the ghost over the weekend. If anyone sees any current offers, please drop it in this thread.
