Which is why I added the last bit, that you didn’t cherry pick.

Calm down Brenda, I wasn't having a go at you.

@tpbiker They do but you have to go via the help page for a specific product (eg instinct solar ;). It's at the bottom. The chap who I spoke to yesterday was fine about looking into order issues.

Mine just arrived!

From taking it out the box initial impression is that it feels a lot lighter and smaller than my fenix. That’s Not necessarily a bad thing, but for some reason I thought it was going to be far bulkier than it is

As someone 'blessed' with skinny wrists that's good.

Certainly has its advantages. I suspect this would be far better for running than the fenix due to the weight and less likely to bounce around. Even when I’m on the mtb I find the fenix a bit cumbersome. Feels much more like a ‘sports watch’ than a watch id want to wear day to day, although obviously it could be used for both

I've just gone from a fenix 3 to a fenix 6s and there is a similar significant difference so this isn't necessarily a "fenix" issue. The 6s is way lighter and less chunky, with a similar sized screen.

messaged them yesterday, response was poor, they'll make a decision before next week, check your emails..

working on large databases its not exactly hard to get a list of email ads and send a bloody email out to those who made the order and give them an honest apraisal..

I spoke to a friendly guy on the call line. He said they are working through the epic volume of orders and I'll get an email when it on its way, or anything changes.

I could tell by his verbal delivery that he had said the same thing a few times today.

Despite the anxiety, I'm gonna remain hopeful 😀

Folks who have their watches, did the order actually change to shipped and / or email? Or did it just turn up?

Phew, was worried you wouldn't have room in your drawer.

Spoke to them again today. I don't think it's looking good:

Mick:
So you can't confirm that I will actually get a watch?
Jack :
I cannot unfortunately all i know if there has been an issue with processing which is far as my own knowledge goes right now

Phew, was worried you wouldn’t have room in your drawer.

Especially since I bought a bulk order for 10 of them..😉

I’ve now passed mine on to someone else, but if you don’t have a garmin watch already I suspect you will be delighted by one of these if they do ever arrive. Good luck all who are still waiting.

Well, I'll get mine anyhow, driver tried to deliver it today but couldn't cause of that wrong address I put in.

I couldn't change it at either Garmin or UPS till they attempted to deliver.

But could now since they put an address issue on the tracking, phoned up and sorted, so I'll get mine either the Morra or Friday most likely, or whenever they decide to get it back out to me. 🙂

tbh I'm guessing a lot of the delay is just because of holidays and maybe short staffed.

Mines has been on shipped since the 30th of December. Don't think they even tried to deliver till today though, so that'll be a UPS issue, but garmin switched it to shipped and give you tracking info on their site when they've given it to UPS..

It's gotta be said, whatever the price - in this day & age, Garmin's (lack of) customer communication has been appalling.

Yeah. I think people were being unrealistic to expect much movement last week, but it's kinda inexcusable to be this far on now with no updates.

Yep, cancellation here too. Interestingly, they've listed all options as subject to misprice and cancellation, so I'll be interested to see why they've decided to fulfil some orders and not others.

Cancelled here. Anyone for kicking up a stink?

Edit: Meh, just seen the list of affected items - so any despatched watches will be other models (colours).

Fun while it lasted like the Gamestop short!

I reckon a few orders slipped through unnoticed but then the bulk were held back before a decision was made.

Oh well.

Now, with the current sale and the 20% off code, that makes an Edge 530 only £176. I've been looking for a deal on one for a while...

Edit: the code is only for the devices affected by the pricing error. 😟

+1 on cancelled order. Got the error mail with a 20% off code. Not surprised but disappointing it’s taken so long to sort given paid with PayPal.

Cancelled also.

Anyone for kicking up a stink?

(Editing out angry rant I posted before reading the email properly) No, I already have a non solar.

becuase they’ve fulfilled some peoples orders at the discounted price and therefore set a precendent.

I edited my post after seeing the list of affected models. Unless anyone received one of those, I can't be *rsed.

Fwiw some of the "affected products" were shipped as someone up there got a solar surf, and there's only 2 colours of them (both listed). Not that it means anything, precident doesn't apply here

Edit.. the code takes the standard solar down to £200. Probably still an all time best price. I don't want one, if anyone wants my code, lemme know

Just received my 'Happy New Year from Garmin' email too.

Can't say I was surprised.

So, a coloured Solar Instinct works out at £200 with the discount.

Is that still a good deal?

EDIT* If you want a black one, Millets have them for £199

Millets

Or blue..

Typical Garmin guff, probably organised by the same person who organises the menus on their devices.
Here’s a code if anyone wants it, I don’t

Meh. If it looks too good to be true etc.

Not the end of the world, I ordered one to replace my battered non-Solar instinct. I'd probably pay £200 for a solar if mine packed up tomorrow.
Whilst it still works it's more than I want to pay though.

I received an email this morning at 8:36 from websales.uk@garmin.com

Dear Customer,

We are contacting you regarding your recent order for the above device . We are currently experiencing delays in our processing your outdoor wearable unit , unfortunately shipment will be delayed during this time. Thank you for your patience.

Kind regards,
Dephna

Just got the cancellation email as well, that's the final straw, it's over between me and Dephna 🙂

Hi Garmin,

Having read most of the hammering that is ongoing over on the Trustpilot site, it seems I am not the only disgruntled customer with a cancelled Garmin order.

I would just like to know why some people got their orders at the Christmas discount price, but not others?

Surely the 'technical error that affected the listed prices on the Garmin.com site for December 25th and 26th 2021' should affect all orders, and not just a few that were cherry picked?

That just isn't fair.

I didn't receive a response to my previous email at this address, so I don't hold out much hope with this one.

Happy New Year

Code gives additional 20% of the full £319.99 retail price off (20% of £319.99 is £64)

£249.99 - £64 = £185.99

Some of the Trustpilot comments are 1st world problem gold. 🤣
Some folk need a sanity check.
Someone made a mistake, the scale of that mistake wasn’t immediately obvious, staff were empowered to deal with the issue as they saw fit made different decisions and it took a few days over Christmas and New Year to sort out.
I do wonder how some folk deal with real challenges that life can throw up. FFS

£249.99 – £64 = £185.99

Ahhh.

What?

The email does say the discount works 'in conjunction with any current promotion' so I'm guessing that's how they're working it out.

Shame it's not on all products, they would have had an edge 530 out of me.
