i dont think we will fit all this in 1 film.
it might need to be a trilogy the way its going.

Amex however have confirmed my payment was authorised and Garmin have simply not taken the money. The payment is no longer showing as pending, I’ve not been charged and there appears now no way for that payment to go through to pay for the watch.

I smell a rat…

Card payments are a 2 step process. An auth in real time to check the payment is good, and a later batch submission. Some companies auth and submit at the same time (so it'll appear in full on your statement a couple of days later), lots will only submit on shipping/processing. No rat necessarily, especially as the number of batch processing days at the moment is reduced (due to bank holidays)

Mine arrived this morning (sorry not rubbing it in!)
I had an email on Wednesday saying it was coming yesterday. When it didn't arrive I wrote off the idea. I got another email yesterday saying it was being delivered this morning and happy days.
Great PSA OP, all the best to those still waiting.

I'm starting to crumble under the strain. Order still says pending (from 3.30ish on Christmas day). Been lusting after one of these for a while, but could never afford the price.

It'd drive me to drink, if I wasn't already pretty loaded in preparation for Hogmanay. 😁

I've got to the stage now that for my £96 I'd just be happy with an email.

The irony is that Garmin communicates with satellites, just not the poor sods who buy things off them.

To be fair, a Garmin only gets info from satellites, it never sends info back, so maybe the email flow is appropriate 🙂

@adamt - it'd probably end up sweary, and I've already got an instinct solar surf (just in a colour I don't like as much)

Much as I like to dislike Amazon, if this had been from them we'd all have had our watches on Monday.

But where would the fun be in that?!!!

I got so bored of waiting I went for a bike ride and got drenched. I'm blaming Ian Garmin for this.

Mine was to be delivered by 2.15 today, but it’s now been amended to ‘by end of day’

The suspense is literally killing me

Well Not really, I’ve already agreed to sell it to a mate (at no profit I should add) but given I’m locked in the house Ill this saga is providing some, albeit minimal distraction

Not me, I resent them with everything I have*, they’re all worse than Hitler.

There seems to be a bizarre logic to it all, bloke on HUKD ordered 2 Instincts and an Enduro, Instincts got cancelled but now received 1 Instinct and no Enduro and Garmin refusing to refund the difference.

Likewise orders from Boxing Day being delivered and 7am Christmas Day orders still in limbo.

I think we broke them.

What, so all along the smart money was on patiently waiting until boxing day to fire the order in because that will over ride all the day previous day's orders?

Honestly, you couldn't make this shit up.

In the real world surely, the orders are processed and subsequently dispatched in the chronological order they were received?

Hah! Straight from the Garmin website...

"At Garmin, we live by one motto: beat yesterday. Beating yesterday is all about doing your best and then trying to do a little better tomorrow."

Have a look at P29 on the HUKD thread
Where he's posted in snips from the chat with Garmin.
They appear to acknowledge it was a pricing error.
If so, it's pretty good they're honouring it for at least some.

@aidy, they are close to 30 pages and 1200 comments on HUKD, it’s positively an oasis of calm and rationality over here though someone did create an online survey where responses showed 83% have received nothing but an order received email

I’m certainly not criticising anyone on this thread but I do feel I must say that reading 8 pages of ‘maybe a watch will come in the post’ hasn’t been the best use of my time today

I mean, I'd be a bit disappointed if I didn't get my order. But I'd be pretty miffed if I got part of an order, charged for a different part of the order, and Garmin refused to rectify it in any way.

@stevious, I agree and if a drunk friend hadn’t WhatsApp’d a drunk me at 8pm on Xmas day to tell me about a watch I’d never thought of owning I wouldn’t care I’d missed the deal. But he did and now I’m invested.

I’m not sure whether the issue lies with garmin or ups but my tracking status, which had moved to ‘delivered by end of day’, has now reverted all way back to ‘label created, delivery date to be provided’

So I’m now back to square one!!😂

@tpbiker, you’d be surprised at the manual processes behind many high tech companies. I work for $3 billion medtech company and the stuff that slips through, undercharging customers for years etc/assumption the new correct product code has been passed on etc , it would blow your mind.

We’ve overwhelmed them at a time of year with skeleton staff and HUKD scalpers with no interest in the actual product means 5000 orders in 24 hours versus the 500 they staff for.

I wish there was an option to set up a poll on this thread.

Who (of the poor buggers still awaiting a dispatched email) honestly believe this is going to happen?

I've gone through so many +/- ups & downs that I truthfully believe that if the watch actually turns up it will be an anticlimax compared to the adrenalin rush of emotions that have dominated the very fabric of my existence since christmas day.

Haven't read all the thread ..only the initial few comments and general excitement . I was intrigued and so looked into whether I could justify buying one but in the end decided against it . I noticed that people are now commenting about whether they'll turn up or the order will be cancelled. Well if it is cancelled then the comment on one review site may be of comfort " don't buy the solar version of this watch ...." I didn't read much further but some folks indicated it was a poor choice ..although to be fair ..perhaps if it had been 1/3rd the price they may have had a different viewpoint.

Rather than buying all these gadgets wouldn't we better off taking a dopamine reuptake inhibitor ?
Re the "in depth and balanced review" ...I can go and dig it out with all the detail but since my post above I have gone back noticed that many people are actually receiving the watch so I kind of regret mentioning it ...I was trying to help what appeared to be a lot of disappointed people.
I'm sure it's a great deal anyhow at that price ...I vaguely remember the gripe being related to the solar charging side of things and as you can manually charge ( I presume) perhaps it was an unwarranted complaint .

Just checked my bank. The money is no longer pending and it’s not showing up as a paid transaction.
Went to the order confirmation email and I when I click on the “Online Version” nothing happens, just takes me back to my inbox.
Guessing the order has been cancelled.

Just checked the link in order confirmation e mail and it’s still in the same “ order received “ state.
Followed the faq link and found this statement which applies as I read it to all orders at any time
“NOTE: An additional 1-3 business days processing time can be expected between order and shipment for in stock merchandise.”
Not sure what they are additional to though 🤔

in fact due to ‘Holiday season, Christmas, call it what you like “ there has hardly been that even

So as “ in theory” there have been only 3 business days at most I’m still hopeful, but as I said before, not the end of the world if it doesn’t arrive

A friend of mine had his credited yesterday with no warning or note of apology. He really wanted one so is furious - ordered at 8:45 Christmas day.

I ordered mine 30 mins before him and min is still at the original "ordered" status with no credit on Paypal of my CC. I'm not really bothered as I have a non-solar and this would be just a cheaper upgrade, but there seems to be little logic in Garmins principles, especially as they've set a precedent for delivering them to some people but are cancelling others.
