If you were going to shell out ££ on Apples external battery:
Clever, but not really doing the same job is it.
I’ve got a couple of the Anker magnetic batteries which I bought on sale for about a quarter of the price of the Apple one! Really useful bits of kit.
I have one of these external batteries. Only needed it once while camping and it gave me 100% charge very quickly.

@reeksy - can you use the 'charging' port on this to listen to music whilst its connected to your phone? Or is it just a charging port? (i'm one of those old skool people that dont have/want wireless headphones)
Good question. I just checked and it doesn’t.
Problem with the thing using the lightning connector is it will redundant soon as they're changing to USB-C. We still have a few clock radios with the original 30 pin wide Apple connector from the iPhone 3 - totally obsolete.

You can buy adapters!
That progrip is impressive!

Gone wireless charging, in fact I've broken the lightning socket on my latest iphone and haven't bothered to get it fixed.
yep. Lightning will be obsolete in 1-2 years so makes little sense to invest in it! Even so, wireless charging is the way forward now anyway, so much better!Problem with the thing using the lightning connector is it will redundant soon as they’re changing to USB-C.

I bought a Bluetooth adapter to fit one I had and its now in my garage. I'm obviously not using it for charging but at least the thing isn't in landfill

Mine isn't! But then I still use iPods. 😀

Why not? The week point on Apple phones is the stupid lightning connector, it’s the first thing to break (assuming you don’t drop the phone regularly). Best thing I bought was a wireless charging pad, & Bluetooth (but wired together) earphones for mine, so I don’t have to touch the lightning port. No longer catching the headphone lead on everything & having them pulled out of my ears, is well worth going to BT headphones
£21 isn’t going to break the bank to try them..

So was i, until i was given a wireless charging pad and decent bluetooth headphones.
They are absolutely brilliant.

I held out for ages, but have converted fully now. Bose QC headphones are just superb - sat here listening to France Bleu all day at work (well the dining room table).
But then I still use iPods. 😀
The only working one we have left is the original shuffle which charges via the headphone socket.
well what a half hour of discovery this has been.... i didnt think my 2020 Iphone SE was able to wireless change. Turns out it is (with an IQ charger?!) and now from the recommendations, i might well give some wireless headphones a go.
cheers chums!
