You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Not sure if this applies to anyone else - I didn't read the confirmation email I originally received from Spotify from the OP's link and that this was a further link to a 'purchase' page that needed completing to actually buy the device.
I've now done that...
Mine arrived yesterday. Sound is very good for a small device, quite impressed.
Mine arrived yesterday, but not done anymore than take it out of the box.
It's a nicer made bit of kit than it looks on a screen.
We've got an Audio Pro T5 speaker in the bedroom hooked up to a Chromecast Audio.
Looking online, it might be able to hook this up to the Home Mini via Bluetooth, so we can get the voice command stuff working on that speaker. I have my doubts it will work seamlessly, but we'll see.
After getting a Chromecast Audio for the living room at Christmas & then panic buying 3 once I heard that they were going out of production, I have only used 1 of the 3 & that one now looks like it might be redundant. There is one destined for the garage at some point, but I may have over-purchased 🙂
I've just linked mine to the Chromecast on the telly so now its:
Hey Google play cat videos on the telly
All day long! Especially when my wife is watching neighbour's 😈
It took a couple of days for my purchase link to come through. I trusted the "We will apply the discount when you checkout" and it charged me...I called Google to sort it out but it can be fixed yourself.
Turns out you need to use the same email address as your Spotify account to place the order on Googles website and get the discount. I don't really use my googlemail address for anything but it logged me in automatically. So in this situation you need to use 'Guest Checkout' and use the email address that your Spotify email arrived in, when you do this you should see the -£49 discount before you have to confirm payment.
If you've already been charged, you have around an hour to cancel the order, and you need to paste the Spotify purchase link into an incognito or privacy window to avoid the browser confusing itself with your earlier purchase.
So...just to update with linking to a larger speaker...upon first set-up it asked what speaker i wanted to use as default with all the connected speakers in the house listed. I chose the speaker in the bedroom and that's that. It seems to 'just work'.
I guess the Home Mini is receiving the requests and sending the streaming stuff to the Chromecast Audio plugged into that speaker.
Forgot to say thanks for this, also Google Store have discounts on the Hub, Home, Mini and Max speakers at the moment!
RM.
I pay 9.99 a month, when I click on the link it’s asking me for my bank details. If I fill them in does my payment go up to £14.99 and they just send me a speaker out?
Really impressed with mine, even at level 4 plenty loud enough
