A new one on me. Berghaus will repair their kit for free apart from postage costs. Assuming it is broken and not completely worn out. Good report from a user on uk.cycling.forum. Main zip and pocket zip replaced on a10 year old jacket. No proof of purchase required.
Really? That's pretty cool.
I have a 30+ year-old rucksack that I broke the waist clip on. Tempted to stick in a form and see if they can do anything, though the link suggests it might just be replacement zips.
Sent pictures of the seam sealing tape coming away on an old Paclite jacket and they said they couldn't repair, 🙁
They did however then offer 30% off the cost of a replacement, 🙂
Great PSA, not sure if I can do without a decent rain coat for 3 weeks at this time of year though, only need a phone pocket zip replacing..
That is cool. In a similar vein, Osprey just sent me a replacement waist-belt and buckles to replace the broken one on my absolutely hammered senseless original Raptor.
It's good to see UK companies offering repairs again, something that became a rarity after most production was off-shored to the far east rather than being in domestic factories and the machinery and skills were largely lost. I know Berghaus retained some machining capacity as they've been able to prototype in house, which is very useful when your factories are in China and you're trying to refine your poducts in a short space of time.
Hmmm. I have still a 20 yrs jacket which hood poppers broke upon arrival.
Very shoddy though couldn't be assed dealing with llbs CS.
Sod's sodding law I literally just chucked the hood couple weeks ago.
Op you are an ass hoooooole and I claim my £5 unless you reckon bergy will give me a hood too once all fixed.
