Not sure if it’s been mentioned but on the back of season of take me home I was scrolling through amazon prime and came across another documentary you may like to see

“Do you want to win“

Tells of Sgt Wilkos arrival and progress to the title,

I actually burned through the Spurs one last weekend after a couple rides left me yearning for recuperation and was surprised by how good it was. In spite of me being a big footie fan I don’t bother with the documentaries but enjoyed it.

Footie or Rugby League?
First time I went to Headingley was to watch the Rhinos play St Helens; I've never played league but Saints have always been my team - blame Eddie Waring if you must.
Anyway, the chant goes up and I hear...we're Leeds tha knows; wrong - it was...we're Leeds Rhinos.
Ears not tuned to local accent but still think it's funny.

Of course you know we are one of the best supported teams in the country - regularly having higher attendances than Premier League teams even when we were struggling in L1. We could probably sell double the present season ticket allocation now if the stadium was big enough (current capacity is about 43,000 IIRC).

And the most arrested too 🤣 although 52 for all the games they played with that many fans is pretty low in my opinion.

Those premiership teams were filling their grounds though. Unlike Leeds, who shut half the main stand.

Where's the 'hook, line and sinker' emoji? 😉

I've worked behind the bar at Elland Road. Wouldn't do it again for all the tea in China, India, Sri Lanka and several other significant tea-producing nations...

Might be true but you can chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest f***ing dustbin you can find, because you've never won any of them fairly. You've done it all by bloody cheating.

Aha!

I think I’ve seen it but it’s on Amazon Prime so I’ll give it a miss. I have enough subscriptions already

From what I understand from the 60s 70s Leeds team they were agricultural in their determination to win, no bad thing, when most European teams were up to the same malarkey.
I only remember the Strachan, McAllister, Batty & Gary Speed midfield as being a joy to watch.

Nice to see the old Leeds tropes are still going strong 🤣 - hanging on to silly stories your dads and granddads told you.
