Proper bags or nothing for me I don't have time for all that faff.
Rather pay more than go anywhere near a scummy tesco's.
Obvs have never stepped into an Asda or Morrisons before have we capt.clunkz
I thought tesco were just evil?
Are they scummy aswell?
What precise is a scummy supermarket?
Tough crowd 🙄
@tdog No I shop local, not in supermarkets. Tesco decided to build a large store down the road from my village and it put six local businesses out of business. This is why I resent Tesco.
I thought this would be about the ‘double trouble’ conjoined jelly babies which are absolutely bloody splendid.
That's so tempting, it's my Birthday too so... excuses.
As above though, I'm like the Tasmanian Devil what it comes to Haribo, bags in bags... not at my pace.
They've got a 400Kcal bag of Giant Strawbs in Co-op for a quid at the moment...
Phwoar
Giant strawberries. I'd eat the mini packs to get at them.

I walked into as Asda once as a woman screamed at then slapped her child who also started screaming, I turned round and left. That is a scummy supermarket, more based on locality and people who shop there than the actual shop in my experience.
For about 8 miles in any direction from my house is only Tesco's (or the local Co-op), so I'm a Tesco's user by default. I have aspirations to be a Waitrose shopper though 😉
Star Mix is good stuff; Tangfastics are proper tasty, can plough through some of them. But Kiddies Supermix is absolute crack. Once they're open, I'm not leaving til they're finished.
So small packs are probably a good idea!

Having worked in 2 Supermarket brands (Tesco and ASDA) having a Brother who is a Manager of a Morrisons I LOVE judging people on their choice of weekly shopping venue.
Obviously this only applies in decent sized towns / cities when you have a choice, if you live in the middle of some idyllic country side middle of no where and your Neighbours are fading popstars and retired footballers is doesn't matter if your local SM is ASDA or Waitrose, it'll be the same.
Anyway, that said.
ASDA - Scum, always was, always will be. It might not be overtly obvious, but trust me as someone who's been behind the scenes, ASDA doesn't trust it's customers and treats anyone who shops there with utter disdain. I assume people who shop there are the downtrodden masses who only really feel comfortable when they're being exploited. Unlike any other supermarket I know they had a full-time security TEAM, there was about 8 of them in 'my' store, they treat the staff with about as much trust as they do their customers so the Security Team never spoke to any of us, ever. They had their own locked room and they'd complete random searched on staff all the time. I'm amazed they've joined the others with scan and shop because their policy was anyone who was caught leaving without paying for something, it didn't matter if it was the local junkie or an old Lady who got confused or a small kid who just picked something up, they'd frog march them back and they would always call the Police, who frankly in my time (long time ago now) got fed up of coming and would sometimes take hours. They buy only the cheapest stock they can get away, their own brand stuff is cheap and shit, but their branded stuff is the same price as Sainsburys. Why anyone would go by choice is beyond my understanding.
Tesco, used to treat it's staff very, very well. Nice canteens with nearly free meals, 3 breaks a day, free shares for staff, double time for Sundays etc. All gone now, and they used some pretty shady practices to get their long-service staff to agree to the new, in every way worse, new contracts. Customer wise it's entirely down to location. They used to have a couple of default store layouts and different levels of finishes they'd use based on the social-economic status of the local area - they also used price according to that so if you shopped in the one in the nice town, it might be a bit brighter in store and cost 1% or 2% more expensive than the one at the edge of the scummy estate. Lots of people hate them, but really they treat their staff, suppliers and costumers far better than ASDA, they're just bigger so an easier target.
Sainsburys, I don't know who decided it, but lets be honest - Sainsburys is the first rung on the Snobby shopper ladder, it's just a cut above Tesco in the "I'm desperately trying to look middle-class whilst equally desperately trying to look like I don't care". They're so scared of upsetting their older, middle class, boomer / Karen (I've run out of stereotypes) customers they're the opposite of ASDA. Ironically perhaps, if you want the best VFM food shopping, Sainsburys own brand stuff is as-good, or better than most branded stuff and cheaper to buy than branded stuff in ASDA. They're in trouble again at the moment, they're also STILL struggling for stock post-panic buying, it's weird.
Morrisons, somewhere between ASDA and Tesco. They lurch from one gimmick to another, their fresh fruit and veg used to be appalling, then they revamped it all, put in these weird semi-chilled shelves which sent a mist over everything, they all broke, the Veg was still crap, they just turned them off. Their managers are ****ers (see above)
Oi, where's your sweeping generalisations about Waitrose? I want to know what you think about me! 🙂
