Something tells me Ray Mears was not on the shortlist for this programme.

review here.
"The 30s were the heyday of river swimming, but that ended after World War II. A dramatic shift in music greets this alarming revelation. As if Hitler’s fascist regime and wanton disregard for morality wasn’t enough, he also contributed to the decline of river swimming. What a bastard."

Missed it, watching something else. However, had a quick look at the Sky+, and it's on again at 23.50 on BBC HD. Excellent.

She was was at my wife's Uni and did a bit of tutoring on her course!

I like her - proper curves, bright, active. Ideal - just like my missus 😉

She does some skinny dipping towards the end but it's all very artfully done so nothing is visible.

Isn't that going to be rather individual-dependant?

I think you're confusing the term money shot with pop shot.

Ask for a profanisaurus this Xmas.

Good programme, lovely presenter and some fab swimming spots. What's not to like?
This reminds me that I haven't been out river swimming in such a long time. I should go more often.

We swim in the sea and Fal estuary all the time - I just call it "swimming" not "wild" swimming.

Should I call MTBing, "wild riding?"

My missus said she would like to be her friend- cultured, intelligent, artistic, outdoorsy, and now having a babbie too...

Much as I agree, the accent is a bit offputting

Indeed.

It's for indoorsy/city folk that want to see a quick dip in a river as "wild" and "free" and "at one with nature."

I'll just stick to calling it "swimming."

Hmmm, would my rather regular evictions from my kayak and resultant "swim" be included in this.........

I thought it was a fabulous and inspiring programme. Mr Cooroo wandered off cos he got bored.... Did a river swim (Wharfe) a couple of weeks ago and now feel very inspired to do more. Especially loved the cave stuff.

Pity more people can't watch excellent BBC4 progs without getting all hung up on female presenters' curves, accents, poor swimming style. Seem to be missing the point. Still, whatever turns you on I suppose.
