I just found out there is another Deutschland series coming out, this time 89. I missed 83 and 86 when they first came out and only realised how good they were during the first lockdown last march. Superb television and looking forward to the final series in the trilogy. Starts end of the month I think on Ch4

99% certain 83 and 86 are still on Ch4 Walter Presents. Think 89 comes out on the 26th Feb, also WP.

Highly recommended - I loved 83 and 86 was just as good. Segments of 86 are set in South Africa, I actually lived there briefly a year later. Depictions of apartheid are depressingly accurate. I'm also going to get into trouble for saying this, but the some of the lady actors are extremely easy on the eye.

Looking forward to this. I am a bit disappointed that the last series of Fargo wasn't picked up by them yet.

Great spot looking forward to this, really enjoyed 83. Took longer for me to get into 86. The soundtrack and music were great as well. Anyone else spot which album track last year had big sample of the 83 theme song ?

Anyone else seen '89?

Having really, really enjoyed '83 & 86, was very disappointed. All a bit random compared to the previous series, which I guess was intended as they tried to reflect post-wall chaos.

But still thought it was poor. Music was not as good either. Not enough David Hasselhof...

There's a scene in Episode 3 when Simply Red is playing at a party for newly free Oostlanders. I have to call this one as an inaccuracy - had we subjected the east to Simply Red in November 1989 they'd have had that wall back up in a jiffy.

I thought '89 better than '86 but really all of it was excellent. The ending of the last episode of '89 I thought was very clever.
