Road is also very good, and quite poignant, given Michael is now the sole survivor of the Dunlop dynasty...

If you're a fan of the TT id highly recommend going over to watch.
Seeing it person only reveals the speed and magnitude of the event.

It's a brilliant film. Really good insight into how insane that race is!

2 ys ago,my son bought us tickets for the Hillberry stand.
He had never been to the island before but had heard all my stories,so I made sure we were at the small wall up from the stand to watch the first race.
The look on his face as the first bike blew past (a metre from the wall) was absolutely, priceless.
A fantastic weekend and I have promised him we will go back on bikes next time.

I remember watching it in the local IMax in 3D, was one of the few things that the 3D actually added to it. Went with the then-girlfriend and she was in awe of it as she had no real interest in motorsport but quite fancied Guy Martin! Took her to a race meeting at Oulton Park later that year and she was smitten from then on. We split up that autumn but have kept in touch via social media, she was at the TT in 2014 with her now husband and messaged me to say it was 10x better in person. I'm still to manage to go before they ban it.

Will watch it tonight!

Also very much worth a watch is Dr John Hinds "Cases from the Races" He's done a few of these and they're all worth watching.

Absolutely great film! A good insight into the minds of the TT racers. Those guys are nuts! I’d say they must be so brave but i think its more a case of stupidity. ( i have a Lot of respect for their skill!) would have loved to have seen Guy win one but I’d rather he stay alive. Would love to go and watch in person one day.

Thats the bit I was thinking of. Cartwheeling like a rag doll over the veranda. Insane!

I was at the TT in 2010. Stood at the bottom of Bray Hill, watched Guy Martin go past, we all thought this was finally going to be the day when he got a win. And then the silence when he crashed and nobody knew what had happened. Will never forget that.

On a lighter note...

Tragic twist of fate - Dr John sadly lost his life himself while at a road race... A legendary figure though.

Spent many a happy Mad Sunday sat at the Gooseneck in the late ‘80s early ‘90s. You could pretty much guarantee a few punters sliding off, but relatively low speed, so fun rather than ghoulish 😀 Also for every crash there would be 4 or 5 spectacular saves!

Cases from the races looks like a good watch, I’ll catch that one soon!

Edit: Oh no, just learned that the Dr who made the film died at a road race, how sad 😢

Just watched a bit of it on YouTube. What I find the most amazing is that they all seem to be just really normal fellas, but they're really clearly very not normal...

I went in 1985 and was blown away by the speeds up close - and they're a lot quicker now! What was sobering though was the row of pulverised road bikes on the quay the day after Mad Sunday when we got back on the ferry. Quite possibly placed there for maximum effect but it certainly made me think about the ride home.

Mad Sunday really did used to be mad.. As a reckless youth it was the highlight of my week. I’ve not been on a bike for 20 years+ but I believe it’s much toned down now.

Of course the real loons are the sidecar racers 😳

As above, if you ever get the chance to go, go.

I've been over for every TT since 2014. I go over on the mtb and it's a week of watching the racing, mtbing on the iom's fantastic trails and drinking beer. It doesn't get any better

Guy wins one every TT. Look back and you'll see a different woman he's sitting with each time 😆

I've not watched this yet but I can already picture which crash that is. Terrifying.
