The Beeb have moved the radio content from their iPlayer apps to standalone versions today. These have been released on iOS today, with an Android version to follow shortly. Plus a new website for BBC Radio.
Not sure anything can give TuneIn a run for it's money when it comes to listening to live radio, but nice to have the archived content, alarm clock feature to wake you up to 'x' radio station, reminders and full schedule.

With Flash seemingly being dropped from all phone systems/platforms, will they be doing an iplayer video app any time soon?
Rumour has it, this new verion of iPlayer will allow the BBC to make the complete BBC music archives available on demand. I heard last week that they were close to getting agreement with many of the artists/licencees.

There's already an iPlayer video app, recently updated to allow downloads for watching offline, and very good it is too.
interesting they're not supporting Windows mobile platforms or Blackberry.
I suspect biggest issue will be people at work who can't install apps onto pc but coudl access via web - will that option still be available?

The problem with Win Mobile, is MS has not released any betas of Win8, so app developers can't make plans to utilise it at the moment.
Kind of annoying that they've moved the Radio content into its on section on the iplayer webpage too. It was, imo, much easier to find what you were looking for before.
