In case anyone near London hasn't heard, there is a chance to go and view the internals of Battersea Power station this weekend before it is redeveloped:

Damn, I was in London a couple of weeks ago, shame it wasn't happening then. I did go up the Shard, though.
My father grew up in Battersea. Shame he won't be in London this weekend.
I was lucky enough to be given a tour round a few years ago and it's well worth a visit, we went in through the 'Directors' entrance (all marble pillars and steps) and went up an amazing staircase, with the walls covered in art-deco mosaics of people dancing and drinking cocktails - somehow I can't imagine taxpayers wanting to pay up for that sort of thing now! The remaining control room was awesome as well, like something out of a 50's sci-fi movie, all seats surrounded by levers and dials, I remember one big switch that said 'Greenwich - On/Off.'
If you can go, go!
Apparently some of the redevelopment is named after me.
Nice to know.
I'm in town and tempted to check it out. Anyone go today? Busy?
Thanks for the PSA, I'm going tomorrow 🙂
bump for today...
