Richer Sounds currently have Roksan Attessa turntables in white for £399 in-store only. There is (or was) definitely stock - I rang my local branch and they ordered one in for me, I'll pop in and pick it up on Friday.

I appreciate that bargain is relative here, but if you're after a decent-quality turntable it looks like a good deal. It was well-reviewed at RRP of nearly £1,000 and a quick Google suggests there's not much better under £500, and it'll outperform a lot of stuff north of there too.

I've been keeping an eye out for something to replace an ageing Pro-Ject Debut for a while so I'm quite looking forward to getting it set up.

Too complex for me. I like simplicity in a turntable such as changing speed by moving the rubber band onto a different pulley wheel 🙂

That's VIP club only though?

I've not looked for ages but VIP club used to just involve inputting your email address and pressing go 🙂

Brought mine on Sunday in black,  pretty easy to set up just watch the active and passive setting switch.

Yeah VIP club is just a free sign up with your email address. Worth it for the savings for me (I've been a member for years and bought a few bits).

I'm bored of changing the speed with a lacky band!

I've been toying with the idea of getting a turntable for ages. But haven't bothered as I need to get a phono pre-amp or the add-on phono board for my amp.

Tempted by this as my man maths tells me that this is the same price as getting a Rega or Projekt turntable and phono stage but also it's reduced from an RRP or nearly £1000.

So far I'm managing to resist, just.

‘ it’s reduced from an RRP or nearly £1000’

I saw one of these in richer sounds’ window on Saturday. Looked neat and imo a bit better than the adjacent Project. Figured the £1,000 was a typical made up RRP to give a perception of ‘great value’.

IDK, I’d favor the AT ones. A bit cheaper and less HiFi-mag like in their appearance.

I suspect the 1k RRP is probably a little bit optimistic. But they do seem to be on sale elsewhere around £700 (and on ebay at £500) so it's still a decent deal.

That's what I'm telling myself anyway.

@jeffl I have an unused Pro-ject Phono Box E phono amp going spare in case that helps?
