Sunset in 10 minutes, so it’s going to be another 45 minutes before it gets dark enough to see anything - clear skies over the Hebrides

Looks like it peaked magnetic activity before it was properly dark here.

The mildest imaginable green here, the sort you're not even sure if it's real.

Got the usual green/purple haze thing going on. Just visible without camera tricks.

I'm getting a pretty greeny blue halo north of Inverness. Moving slowly.

Can see it with the naked eye, phone picks it up quite nicely

Shame it dropped down from the red alert

Northwest Sutherland and at the moment there is a dirty great cloud above us.  Went out during the peak alert and the sky was bright, but much of that was the tailend of today's daylight.

Pale sky here in Carmarthenshire. Possibly wishful thinking though. It's certainly nothing special aurora-wise but sitting back and just looking at the sky is really nice to do.

It’s pretty feint right now here in Beamish. I’ll pop out with the hounds in a bit and see if I can see anything from the top of the hill.

I'm on the south coast in Sussex and just seen a post in a local facebook group stating the Northern Lights are visible.  My phone camera is picking up a very faint green glow but nothing notable, perhaps when the neighbours garden stadium lights turn off and the streetlamps turn off later I'll have more luck!

I think the website explains that the current hour often shows a drop due to how they aggregate the data, so don't assume you've missed it

Recommended settings on phones ? - just using the night mode on a Samsung S23 Ultra, so it decides exposure time - 3-6 seconds - Could go for the pro mode and set it manually.

My Pixel 6 on Night Mode will attempt a 6s exposure if you can hold it steady enough. Put it in a tripod/mount so that it can't move at all and it'll do a 4 minute exposure.

The disturbance levels have passed 1400. That’s crazy, they were 900 or so earlier this year’s, that’s way higher than I’ve ever seen

Makes for good viewing though

Isn't it great? Even an ill mrs_oab dragged herself out to see them. It never grows old or mundane.

Later it was well visible by the naked eye from inside our house in Dunblane - which has a streetlight outside directly to the north! That's a first - we've seen vague, greenish colour from the house before, but this was much more vibrant.

Stopped on my way home with my nephew from the climbing wall. Got some nice phone photos. I got home and dragged out Carmen (Canon r6) but the show wasn't as good. We had 360 views of it south of Edinburgh. I'm just waiting on the laptop churning through a 360° spherical panorama (of the grassy area in the housing estate)

The stupid picture uploader won't accept most of my pictures but it was pretty spectacular from Stanage at around midnight.

I've never seen it before so it was well worth the drive out. It was clearly visible with the naked eye but obviously not as vivid as the photos.

I'll keep an eye on the forecast from now on.

2130 was ‘ok’ above Holmfirth (nothing compared to May). I looked out the door at 2330 and there wasn’t much to see but the levels went nutty after midnight but no idea if that meant super-spectacular.

My first definite successful observation. Fabulous. In southern Lancashire it was dim at 8pm and again about 11pm, but at 10pm it was extraordinary. My son even saw them from the middle of Leeds!

@ElShalimo

two or three seconds, then a bit of colour playing to bring out the greens and blues. Amazing how much difference the clear horizon makes.  I got a couple more shots from the top of Park Gate. About 2230.
