£61 doesn't sound right to me unless it's a litre bottle

The last bottle I got was ~£45 so £37 is still a good price

Away with you! Who's ever paid £61 for Ardbeg 10?

the tesco website says it's a £10 discout, which seems more likely.

It also says: "Usually bought next:" - followed by a bottle of Lagavulin, a bottle of Laphroaig, a bottle of Glenmorangie, and a bunch of bananas. Everything in moderation...

Don't want to overdo the potassium.

Bought a bottle of Tesco's own brand GlenFairn "Islay Single Malt" for £16.50

I could swear its Ardberg.

Time for a "Pepsi challenge", eh?

Interesting - I occasionally pick up a bottle of Aldi's own brand single malt (roughly 17 quid) and it's usually better than anything with an RRP of under 30.

I've heard it's usually a decent name brand whiskey, that the producer didn't manage to shift all of that year. I wonder if Tesco are getting on the same game?

Glenfairn is horrible. The only single malt I’ve ever drunk that was improved with an ice cube!

Aldi and Lidl's own brand Islays are both decent enough, on the lighter side but I don't mind that at all.

It's interesting how not knowing the origin affects the appreciation a bit though.

Yes, you're quite right. I'm talking b*ll*cks. Its actually a saving of £12.34. Dunno where £24 came from (apart from they are some of the numbers) 🙂

Ardberg can be a bit of an acquired taste as well!

I'd be surprised if the Tesco/ Aldi stuff was Ardbeg my understanding is that the Scandi's go mad for it and they can't make enough and are planning/ completed an expansion

Too peaty/sharp for me.

My recent favourite is Penderyn.
