With the risk of coming across a bit Hotukdeals, this is a bit of bargain for those looking for some tooones in the garden/ fetid sex pond or shower or whatever

Amazon linky

Edit: only posting as it pops up quite regularly when the wot Bluetooth speaker threads appear.

I don't think this speaker is half as good as the Boost though, the sound is weedy in comparison.

I would go for the Boost for another £10

The advantage this one does have is that you can pair 2 together, but the inferior sound still puts me off

Ooo, good shout - we have one, a really good sound for a small speaker and great battery life. Might get a second one to leave at work! 🙂

Edit - well, I think ours has a LOVELY sound, so there. 🙁 Didn't know you could pair them, though! 🙂

I have one, it's great, I use it inside though... whatever happened to using the garden for a bit of peace & quiet? (moan, grumble 🤣)

Yeah, that's what I have. It was an impulse buy on a deal when I was buying a cable.

It is an astonishingly good bit of kit for the size of the thing. I'm not sure as I'd pay £43 for it, if only because Anker do a bigger version for less money, but at sub-£30 it's a steal. I'm tempted to get a second one to make a stereo pair with the first.

Nice spot, thanks.

"whatever happened to people minding their own ****ing business so **** you grandad" is what happened (see disposable BBQs). Which is a shame.

Didn’t know you could pair them, though!

You couldn't pair the early ones. If you press and hold the Bluetooth button and the BT LED starts flashing white, that's it looking for another speaker.

Seems mine is a Soundcore Motion B. What the difference is I don't know, it looks identical to the one on that listing other than the printing on the grill saying "soundcore" instead of "Anker".

Got one free with a mobile phone contract, was sceptical at first but it's brilliant, used almost daily, mainly for podcasts.

Decent enough sound for the price, use mine mostly when I'm cooking or when I'm hiding in the garage.

That's all I came to say but now I have a bottle of Bowmore 12 on the way. Cheers!

Any recommendations for wifi connection rather than Bluetooth? Sonos a bit spendy.

Looks like I'm listening in mono then.

Probably worth its own thread there TBH.

That soundcore flare was top 6 in a recent Which test over some very spendy bits of tat.

Looks a bargain at £40 if you need one.

If you want a portable speaker it has to be MINIRIG.

Thanks just bought 2 as these can be joined.

A lot of these speakers aren't stereo. This one is with the looks of it.

Grabbed one, replace my ancient Logitech.

Also worth considering - Veho MX1 at a very good price from Aldi - mine arrived yesterday and I'm well happy with the sounds it makes.

Got mine yesterday. Dunt sound as good as a Sonos but is a fraction of the £££'s. Thanks for the PSA. 👍

So what is the best VFM portable Bluetooth speaker? My sons still point to the Bose Mini Soundlink II but they’re obsolete and £150-200 if you can find one 😬 and not so great for speech.

Suggestions welcome.

If you can get one on special offer (Amazon had a deal a while ago) the Bose Revolve+ is an awesome speaker. I originally saw a street performer using one in Rome and bought one on the strength of that. The depth of bass and sound quality is incredible.

My son has the Revolve which is OK but not as good as the Revolve+

Edit - Refurbished from Bose: https://www.bose.co.uk/en_gb/products/speakers_outlet/soundlink-revolve-plus-factory-renewed.html#v=Sndlink_Revolve_Plus_Blk_230V_Eub_Uk_Fr

But was cheaper on Amazon Black Friday

Note - It is not a smart speaker though

You could buy eight Soundcores for that. Is one refurbed Revolve+ better than eight new Soundcores?

I have both and I would say yes. I listen to a lot of bass heavy music and the soundcore loses so much of the experience. I thought the soundcore was ok until I had the revolve+.

I would gladly trade 8 soundcores for 1 revolve+. It adds the missing dimension to the music I like.

@eskay

Thanks for that, though not exactly cheap I guess you pay for quality.
I’ll keep an eye out!

Just bumping this to ask if anyone has any recent suggestions other than a Soundcore 2?

The Soundcore2 is good but not amazing - better than laptop speakers but I find the sound to be a bit dull and bassy. I guess I couldn't expect miracles and I shouldn't really compare it to the SONOS that I have moved elsewhere.

A couple of months ago I suggested a Veho MX1 - available on a deal from Aldi online - can report that I'm still very happy with the sound quality, and can also now report decent battery life. Probably not worth the £200 RRP, but definitely worth the £40 price from Aldi.

I'm still using my soundcore 2 many months later, I think they're great. I'm sure much more expensive ones are better but for around £30 they're fantastic.
