[edit]

"Now is the early autumn of our discount tents" doesn't have quite the right ring.

Surely - "Now is the Indian summer of our discount tents."
Hopefully.
Thanks for the PSA.

Can we criticise their business model for reducing the price of the tents.?

Oooh, may have just found the ideal 3 man tent for cycle touring - my two man is a little tight for two of us. Thank you 🙂
Edit: Now bought!

These PSAs make the threads really intense.
I'm intent on purchasing a tent, in order to feel content.

Tent.

I just cannot choose between a 4 man or a 6 man. It's stressing me out...

I think I'm just too tense.

Which tent would people recommend for occasional solo trips and staying at events? Banshee 200 too small? Anything better for £65?

Banshee 200 is better now it has two doors but it's still very cramped and has some design flaws- a puffy sleeping bag will touch the inner at the foot end and the middle of the fly at the head end has to be kept away from the inner with a bit of sponge.

I shouldn't criticise too much, mine has done me alright for years, I've managed some two man trips in it, it's still in good nick and it's cheap but I probably wouldn't buy again. It's frustrating because I think a very little bit of extra room (mainly height atthe foot) would make it much more useable.

At a very quick look, over the banshee I'd probably pick this if you want a lightweight one man- http://www.millets.co.uk/activities/107641-blacks-apex-octane-1-man-tent.html

Or this if you can put up with the weight for space- http://www.millets.co.uk/activities/107640-blacks-apex-octane-2-tunnel-tent.html#read_more

That's based purely on the shape, I have no idea how good quality they are!

Seems to be a good couple of reviews for that octane. Tempting, pretty lightweight too which is perfect for bike packing.
