Top choice for car camping and as a packaway spare bed at home.

Do not get a double if there is any weight differential between you and the Mrs.

You will end up on the floor, she in the ceiling*

*perhaps a slight exaggeration.

What makes Aerobed particularly good?

(compared to say a £20 Bestway bed)

Good pump, good valves and seals, long life, more stable, more comfortable, in my experience.

Ours was bought in July 2010, and has been on many, many camping trips, long and short, blown up in the back of the Mondeo for cheeky kips here and there, used as a spare bed at home. Still going strong. Needs a top up now if it's stayed up in the tent from the previous night, might be dust in the seals.

Mine's a little different to the one on sale on SP, a bit simpler construction, it packs down to a bag, including the pump, to the same size as 2 thermarests. I'd still take it at double the size, though. Size not as much of an issue if you've got the car, plus there's a lot I'd leave at home before the aerobed if space was an issue.
