Greene King IPA is one of the worst pints I have ever had the misfortune to drink (or attempt to - couldn't actually finish it! Think that's only ever happened to me 3 times, ever!)

Yeah, but 6p! I reckon you could force it down if it were 6p, eh?

Jeez - some people are never happy! 🙂

I've drunk a lot worse than Green King IPA - mostly the flowery, sickly shite you get in fancy cans nowadays.

I'm.afraid I have to agree with zilog: even at 6p a pint, it's not an offer I'll be taking up.  It's not very nice beer at all (IMO).

I have to agree! Im not one to turn a beer down, but I tried it once and I wouldn't drink it if it was free... No joke. It really is awful, like drinking dirty dish water.

I tried it many years ago. Wasn't a fan so won't be rushing to get a free pint. Plus all their pubs round here are rubbish chain ones.

a friend messaged me asking if i fancied going out for a session to one of the pubs doing this.
i had to decline, the reason being, i would rather sup my own urine than drink greene king pish.

Beer so good they practically have to give it away!

And now, not just practically, but literally: https://news.sky.com/story/greene-king-giving-away-free-pints-to-mark-platinum-jubilee-after-being-told-it-cannot-charge-6p-each-12624290

The law has spoken, and it says

you can't bloody charge people for that!

I remembered Cambridge was more or less a Green King pub monopoly and looking at their website it looks as though they have 8 or 9 pubs in the city centre. With one pint of free (or even 6p) beer in each that could be a very messy student pub crawl going on!
If my memory serves me correctly the IPA was nice (more than 25 years ago and possibly a changed recipe since) if kept well but the only pub in town that did that consistently was the Champion of the Thames on King Street which is is no longer on their list. From most other pubs it was often barely drinkable.
