Note: It's polycotton* and has no divider or anything inside, not that unusual for a bell tent. From Planet X, if that's not on your embargo list.

Groundsheet looks sewn in so you'll want a footprint groundsheet imo, easily knocked up with tarp and duct tape if you want cheapness.

* All things being equal, polycotton is a "best of both worlds" fabric imo for larger tents.

That’s intriguing.

We’ve already got a huge Vango airbeam polycotton family tent. Great for big holidays but we’re on the lookout for something smaller for overnighters or 2-3 night trips. That’s sort of thing might work, assuming it’s quickish and easy to erect and pack away. I love a polycotton tent.

I’m not fully convinced the one-room idea would have much mileage for us though. My girls will be getting to the age in a few years where they’ll want their privacy, assuming they continue to holiday with us…

The usual detail (lack thereof) from Planet X is frustrating. Does anyone know anything else about these?

They’ve had these for ages is the reason for the amazing price, tempted although storage space is the problem for me.

You can get a full erection in around 15 mins if your rapid, it's the taking down and wiping / drying of the base that takes longer. If you take it down wet, you'll need somewhere big enough at home to pitch it to dry.

Tempting, much as I don't generally have an issue with slumming it in a decathlon 1-person pop-up at events. The idea of being able to fit an airbed and stand up is quite appealing!

Storage, carrying, drying etc isn't an issue for us thankfully. Might be just too big for what we need though: possibly too close in size/purpose to our current 7x4mtr Vango TC tent. Tents at this price are all synthetic normally, hence this now being under consideration...

@a11y - to answer your privacy concerns (or complaints) - I've been told by taking my glasses off and sticking a towel over my head then the 2 females have no issues with privacy. I was quite happy to step outside the tent, but apparently this is a 'better' solution (which makes me think it is being done for their entertainment!). So don't worry too much about privacy issues yet as there are still some quick and easy solutions to allow a few more years of tent adventures to be had as a family!

@DickBarton it's amusing how quickly they'll go from daaaaaaad, I need help (shouted from the toilet) to daaaaaaad, don't look! We're not there yet but future privacy was a factor we considered before buying our current big tent.

Quick search brings up alternative bell tents with 'half inner' giving two quarter-sized bedrooms that'd overcome any privacy issues. That's serious mission creep though and even further from the smaller, quick-erect, overnighter tent we actually need...

Hahahahaha...yup! We do have a tent with 2 bedrooms, absolutely no privacy as the divider between them is pretty see through, but it does make a difference (although on the colder nights, I'm always impressed at how quickly I get turfed out the 'double' into the 'single' so the females can stay warm...
I'm not sure it is privacy issues I've got, I think it is becoming clear as I write this that I'm more the servant in this thing - I pitch the tent myself, put the tent away myself, dry the tent myself, pack the camping gear and load/unload the gear myself, seem to do the cooking and then I get told where I'm able to sleep...I love camping trips!!! 😎

Too late as they've gone from the site now (but who knows) - I got around to putting mine up today.

Unusually it has alu poles and some very fancy (probably shared with the backpacking tents) lightweight red alu pegs. Has some storage pockets on toggles either side of the door and a small zip for electric hookup. The groundsheet is zipped in although can't see any toggles to roll up the sides so you can "float" the top - but there's big vents with bug screens anyway. Decent rope guylines with chunky metal adjusters. Groundsheet doesn't feel particularly thick or sturdy but I've ordered a footprint and carpet from Millets (20% off their higear 5m bell versions) which should help. Actual tent canvas feels good, seams all look fine.

I think most quarter/half inners should fit OK, the pole has a loop for hanging stuff from but you might need to sew in a couple of loops on the sides to attach to.
