Through our affiliate connections we get a heads up on discount codes with various retailers and of all places H Samuel have 50% off a Garmin Epix (GEN2) watch right now with the code 'GARMIN'.

Use this linky https://fave.co/3T4Vy3o and Singletrack gets a bit off the top too.

It's just this watch. The code doesn't work with the other variants they have on offer.

unless £750 is half price, it doesn't appear to be..

I bought one of these through the same deal just after Xmas. Great watch 🙂

Although weirdly, the silicon strap gave me blisters for the 1st few days

I definitely don't need this, but I'm deeply tempted anyway.

It's fine to spend £350 on a watch because the strap on my current one might need replacing in a year or so, right?

My instinct gave me a bit of a rash too, internet opinion seems split between it being a sensitivity to silicone / plasticizer / other chemicals used in the manufacturing for some people, or just a sweat/friction issue as it's impermeable.

Swapped mine for a cloth strap and stopped wearing it overnight once the novelty of the sleep data wore off. I'm tired if I get a bad nights sleep, I don't need my watch to tell me that!

Likewise. Maybe I need it because the battery life on my 5 year old Instinct has dropped from 2 weeks to 13½ days?

Mine also caused a rash. I've replaced the strap. My previous Garmin watch was fine, so there must be a difference. Great PSA. I bought at the same price, seems much cheaper than anywhere else.

I replaced my Fenix 6 with the Epix 2 (similar deal). Bought a cloth strap recommended off here. It's a lot nicer feel than the supplied one. Defo an upgrade over a 6 mostly on screen resolution. Makes map usable even with my old eyes!

Jury is out on new (beta) version of connect tho!

Thanks to the three people who bought this yesterday. That's put £24 in the Singletrack server upgrade fund

Some how I have survived the original strap

As far as I can tell it’s the cheapest watch with mapping, certainly from Garmin. Against a Fenix your trading battery life for screen visibility

I've had one just like this for 2 years. I'm happy, would recommend. Especially at this price.

Battery lasts a week in normal everyday use, or will record a 24hr activity. Fine for most away from the extreme use cases.
