If someone lists all of the cool things I can do with it I might buy it. Can I use it instead of a Garmin, or in conjunction with one? Is it good for navigation or just plotting routes then zooming in and following the line?

Assuming it's what I have, I find it very clunky and frustrating to plot routes. I want to plot a days walk or ride, get distance and altitude gain info and see a profile of the route. So far I don't seem able to

It's good having all the maps and aerial imagery but as a nav tool I'm not convinced and I much preferred memory map for simplicity

I tend to plot routes on PC/web using a mouse and then they appear in the app, download, bosh.

Works for me. Note that they've only recently added the ability to "snap to path" for the OS Leisure maps so it might be worth trying again.

I'm not understanding you here.

If you already have OS maps on your Garmin then it's not adding much (although the maps will be more recent). If don't have OS Maps on your Garmin then it's a useful tool to add.

Good psa... thanks

Been using os maps without subscription for a good while but they made the import/expert of gpxs a premium feature recently and i use that quite a bit when finding routes then editting them

I find it very clunky and frustrating to plot routes

Don't find it too bad (find Fatmap worse) but some extra features like deleting multiple points or ability to split routes would be nice.... unless it can be done in OS and I've missed it

Ok I shall presevere.

Is there a way of plotting a route and then seeing a table of distance and elevation? That is what's frustrating me, I can't seem to get basic info out of it. I appreciate I'm probably trying to use it like memory map which might not help!

Also what is snap to path for? I saw it but couldn't work out what it was for
