I posted without reading your post, we are so gangster!
So how does this work? PP and ebay just take the hit but the buyer still gets their money?
And can you use it more than once so long as it's today?
looks like it only works once. dammit, should have added both things to my basket.
Brilliant PSA,
Just saved £20 on a pair of Salomon approach shoes
Mine still shows I paid full amount in PayPal why is this?
Mine still shows I paid full amount in PayPal why is this?
maybe you did, when I went to use it the second time, the ebay page showed the discounted total but the paypal total was for the full amount. so i cancelled it.
edit: just checked and it showed the discounted amount in paypal.
Can it be a used item with BIN?

Nice one. I'd just bought a bike for my friends kid which was a bit more than she'd budgeted for and I was going to cover the difference.
Don't need to now.
cheers for the heads up, very useful for the timing belt kit I did need anyway 🙂
Pair of Clement Strada 120tpi with tubes for £46? Yes please!
Nice one OP.
I assuuming that ebay/paypal are swallowing this and there isn't some 'small print' in the sellers agreement that allows them to recoup it from the seller...
Cheers! Just saved £36 off a 2nd hand Nikon D3100 kit for my daughters photography A level course 😀
Well played - £10 of a new set of road tyres, cheers!
Thank you OP - £20 off a mio fuse I've been wanting.

Max coupon value £50. So no afraid not!
Fancy sat nav for my new van for the upcoming Morzine trip. £300 from Fiat. Got it for £160 brand new with the discount. Result! 😀
Hmmm... finger hovering... new kitchen radio and a set of curtains for the van...
great PSA - nice discount on a new pair of trail running shoes
Interestingly the combined final sale and ebay fee income to ebay/PayPal would be a bit £22 on a £250 sale.
just bought a new nexus 5 for £172
Thanks OP, that's made the nearly-impluse-bought slackline a little easier to justify!
hMMPPPHHH!
I get "There is no balance left on this redemption code" when applied at checkout!!
Max coupon value £50. So no afraid not!
ah ok, thanks, didnt see that.
just bought a new nexus 5 for £172

ideally id find a 32Gb, black, with car kit.
thanks
Edit - read the OP now!
Purchased all the wife's birthday presents about an hour ago with it, thanks!
A bollocking will ensue about my online shopping habit as however many packages arrive addressed to me...
Game over - the pots empty
Just missed it but had already committed.
Thanks OP, new garage shelving on it's way! 🙂
This not working anymore?
Whoa thats abit sneaky- does that mean I'm still committed? I can't see the wheel in my purchase history etc.
Can't see anywhere that states they can end this early? I'm half way through a purchase having had an offer accepted by a seller - do I have to buy?
Their servers may be down
Ah i see thats why ive spent last five mins trying to make code work. Doh...
phew, glad i got in when I did for the stuff i need...
...and prob for the best i didn't buy yet another camera 🙂
Has it run out? I havent made my own purchase yet!!!
I'd not realised it was a limited offer.....
🙄
Has it run out? I havent made my own purchase yet!!!
Rule number 1 of PSA's is make sure you get your own order in first before posting the PSA!!!
It is a limited offer....midnight. Oops this could be a PR disaster for them if they didn't make it clear and its one of those 'shit pull it quick its too popular' boo boos.
I assuuming that ebay/paypal are swallowing this and there isn't some 'small print' in the sellers agreement that allows them to recoup it from the seller...
I don't particularly want anything, but I'm sure mrs aracer could find something she'd happily sell me for £250.
Shame it's not working any more...
Damn it, somebody is going to have to explain to the cat why he's not getting that fancy new cat flap anymore...
What now, I clicked buy it now and then the code didn’t work – can I back out?
I am hoping this comes back on as it clealy says midnight and i would not have gone to ebay if it wasn't for the 20%
i guess it would've been an easy way to make 16.50 on a buy / sell auction.
I emailed my seller to explain what happened and they said they'd had loads of similar issues and that ebay technical bods were looking into it (rather than it has simply expired). Hope yet that it may return later today.
Are lightbicyle carbon rims available on Ebay? I couldn't find them and I'd like to be ready just in case..
I don't think Light Bicycle are on UK ebay.
it only works on uk site, and only works once.
and only works once.
worked twice for me.
But it's not working at all any more, as above.
I get "There is no balance left on this redemption code" when applied at checkout!!
Amazing - internet offer is stopped because it gets popular on the internet!
I got the email last night but by the time the seller had listed what I wanted the code had stopped working, never mind needed to buy it anyway
The problem with it is you had to commit to buy before you were told the code didn’t work!!!!
Imagine if Tesco announced a one day only 20% off but then cancelled the offer once you’d put all your weekly shop through the checkout! Do you buy it anyway just because you got to the till!! Piss poor this!!!!
I think it was supposed to be a limited offer, only to those they sent it to.
I guess they didn't account for some one, or some people putting it online allowing them to get mugged.
The problem with it is you had to commit to buy before you were told the code didn’t work!!!!
no you didnt, you could add it to your basket rather than click buy it now and apply the code there.
I backed out of the second sale when it applied in the basket total but not in the paypal window on the side.
maybe different on mobile apps.

Nope. You put the code in on the review order page. It even says at the top of the page "You're almost finished. Until you complete checkout, another eBay user may buy this item." I clicked buy it now on a camera but got the 'no balance left' message - I even clicked on the continue button to go to the Paypal to see if the code could be applied there and I still hadn't bought the camera. The Ebay purchase is not finalised until you click 'Pay now' on the Paypal page. So in your analogy you'd be able to see the price you have to pay on the till and if you aren't happy you can still say no.
see..in this case (^^) they need to put the effort in to have single use vouchers, sent out specifically to the intended recipients.
A blanket voucher and the 'hope' that the altruistic attitude of net-wizards is absent, is simply put, lazy!
DrP
this may be of use....
i purchased a pair of shoes for £250 but the code didn’t apply, i went through with the purchase anyway and then opened a chat window with eBay support, 58mins waiting time!? left the window open and after getting on with some work came back to computer and noticed that ‘JoeMabel’ had started a conversation. i replied, then nothing.... eventually they replied and:
I have coordinated this to our specialised team and please be informed that we are aware that there was an issue with the voucher that prevented it from being applied and we are currently investigating this. We will be looking into a way to ensure that members like you still get the benefit from the voucher.
JoeMabel
For the meantime, you can make payment in full and we will reimburse your PayPal account with the discount amount for the completed transactions. Please note that it will take up to 14 days to see this reimbursement in your PayPal account.
JoeMabel
With this, may I ask for your details for us to refund the voucher:

all i did was say the code wouldn’t apply and could you please refund my paypal. i guess they are doing this to people who can be arsed to contact support.
I too had this^ they also sent me a copy of the convo as proof of the offer/promise
It's not hard to create one time discount codes. Let's see if they re activate - no way of contacting support from mobile.
£250 shoes?
