I am after a recommendation for some extra memory for my PS4.

I'm not keen on changing anything internally so external memory would be preferred.

Thanks

You can't increase the memory on a PS4; it is fixed. Did you mean the internal hard disk?

You can replace the internal hard disk so it stores more games. You can't store games on external hard disks, only backups and media you want to play on the PS4.

Replacing the hard disk is fairly easy. You need a laptop drive under a certain thickness (most are unless you want very large capacity ones). SSDs also work (fast).

PS4 doesn't support external hard drives, but they make it easy to replace the internal one. It's only a few steps and you'll be able to find a guide on YouTube easy enough and recommendations for the best drive to use.

Solid State drives will offer faster boot time, but is that really that important with a console?

Very easy to replace the Hard Drive on a PS4 takes minutes for the hardware part the software bit takes ages. There's instructions on the PS website. Search Amazon for PS4 drives there's plenty options. I got a SSD but it makes very little difference on PS4s I got mine as it was on offer.

Thanks all,

I have about 10 games on the system and the memory is so full I can't update any of the games.

Am I missing something or is this the norm?

I have to admit after owning all the previous ones I didn't bother with the PS4 and bought a fancy graphics card for my PC, but it seems the original ones came with a 500GB HDD, a big PS3 title like GTA V was about 50GB, I'd guess that would be more of the norm for PS4 games and I know they want more on HDD now rather then disc so yeah it could well be full.

This is about £80, is 2000GB and designed for PS4. You won't get a SSD that size.
