I can't hear any sound in games?! What's wrong? I can hear the clicky sound in the menu screen though.
PS3 did an update and since this has happened. Please help.....me and the lad got FIFA today and want to hear it!

Amp, direct to TV, HDMI, TOSlink, phonos, telepathy? How is it set up?
I don't know the PS3, but that sounds to me like you've got multiple audio paths and one is working but not the other, so it fails when it switches (say) from regular audio to Dolby Digital. Either that or you've got something configured that you've not actually got.
It's just hdmi to tv
Does the PS3 you've got some sort of surround setup that you don't have? Guessing, sorry.
PS3 Has different sound options yes.
Make sure sound settings is set up to use HMDI, Select Bitrate for sound option.
I'm a bit rusty as not used my PS3 months now.
