I would guess a full DNA test from swab; a blood test might only show a connection if one or other parent had a rare blood-type which was shared by the offspring.

DNA paternity test. Very simple. Pleas remember it's illegal to take a DNA sample without consent.

AFAIK a woman can claim maintenance via the CSA/CMS and if the alleged father disputes paternity then a DNA test can be done with the consent of all parties (they need a swab from dad,mum and child)-if the alleged father doesn't agree then I'm assuming he has to pay up.

Unusually ,a friend of mine had no luck through the courts trying to prove the child of a married woman he had a lengthy affair with, was his.Judge accepted her word about who the father was and said neither she nor her child had to take a DNA test. This despite the fact that she had been allowing him regular access to "their" child.
