For those who have been eagerly awaiting the next installment, Episode 16 is apparently going to be released at 8pm tonight. That's my evening sorted.

Will they ever get it built is more the question. I could see them just about to fill the tank & deciding the redesign it from the ground up. Which wouldn't bother me for a second, I'd just like them to do videos more regularly, though I think their actual paying work gets in the way (annoyingly).

I think the tree would come off worse .....

I won't catch it tonight but will make a point to see it tomorrow. Flying home from work at 8pm and that's more important !

Thanks for the heads up. Was only looking on their site last night. Strange I haven't had a mail as a subscriber. So choice is "Friday Night is Music night" or Project Binky... Hmmm, tough one 🙂

Enjoyed that. It's always a mixture of delight and then woe as it ends and I'm left with the crushing realisation that it'll be god knows how long before the next one. I swear that I f I won the lottery I'd be over there like a shot to see how long it'd take if they didn't have to just do it in their spare time!

I've been (fairly obsessively) checking their FB page for updates for "some time". I had it in my calendar as a reminder to check yesterday and up pops the news that's it's "in the can". I've rarely been more pleased

Well that was good.

Glad they did the timing thing. Some people just dont believe how long it takes to make custom stuff.....i do a fair but of it and even still i underestimate how much time it takes 🙂

You should look up Draco by Mike Patey too.

Stuck a turbo prop in a bush plane, did it all since about March, and made it to Oshkosh air show.

Spending a million dollars along the way. Not *really* much like Binky, but still worth a watch.

Mike over engineered  much of the build too!

Amazing fabrication again. Alright, it's all a bit mad but the level of effort these guys go to is insane.  Especially when you look at how long it took to just get the front wipers done.  Can't wait corn the next instalment now.

it's almost as if they are prevaricating for some reason.... putting off something they really don't want to do 🙂

They took a fairly significant chunk off the sump to make it fit and will have to reposition a fair few other bits which will make the engine re-build interesting.

Bonkers attention to detail in everything they do. The heater / aircon unit is a work of art. There's no need to tidy up hidden welds but they have a compulsion to do so.

So how long do we think it'll take until it's finished? I'm torn between wanting it to be soonish and hoping it goes on forever.

I get the impression they want to make stuff more than drive the thing. Whilst we’re dying to see how it looks when it’s done, for them I think it’s more like a holiday they don’t want to end.

Over-engineering at its absolute finest 🙂

I am 52 year old now will Binky be finished while I still have control over my bladder and I can remember the start of this channel and my wife's name?

Amazing they are still hand cutting sheet metal!  These days, thanks to online Laser/water jet cut service providers, you can send a .dxf file one day, and have the finished part in your hand the next....

Nice skid factory reference at the start, their also worth a watch (mighty car mods sub Chanel). Love this show, especially when they go from the sublime to the ridiculous, they've said lately they have a number of project lined up after binky.

Nick is a bit of a perfectionist. Binky is going to be a work of art when(if?) it is finished.

I would have put some grommets in the holes to protect the wiring though. Thats going to chaff on that  metal.

They'll do that when they rebuild it after paint, it's all going to have to come off at some point before it's finished!

To be honest with their level of attention to detail I didn't think it would be something they would miss.

I imagine they are going to fully wrap the harness anyway...leaving it as a loom of bundled wires with a few cable ties is not very good. They're still in mock up phase. Looking forward to them getting back to some good old fashioned tin bashing. I can imagine they've got something special planned for the re-positioning of the alternator.

Really make me wonder what you are thinking, do you (& half the youtube posters) think they'll really go to this level of construction, then they'll forget something minor like a grommet? ;D

First one I’ve watched all the way through for some reason. I love this so much more than the Escort for a rich guy thread.

"Rich Guy" do you mean Gordon Murray, designer of some of the most famous and successful F1 cars of the 70s and 80s, designer of the McLaren F1? Ha ha.

Yeah, he's probably rich, but it's not the budget that makes it interesting, it's who he is - it's like being asked to paint a picture for Van Gogh.

I was disappointed by the standard jap import fog light installation. I can’t believe after all the work gone into it that they just hang one of those off the back. It has two reversing lights so can’t they adapt one of those with a red bulb/lens?

still think they are putting something off, you'd have thought they would have a running rolling chassis first before worrying about the interior decor and door cards.

I think you'll find those are mug holders, thank you very much.

Klunk* maybe they think that doing this at the end would be very frustrating when all anyone will want to see is it running, not the fiddly crappy stuff that make a for a properly completed project.

It's getting bloody close to being finished! (maybe)

* Also I think Mr Blackhurst has very little time for doing things they way the 'everyone else' expects stuff to be done
