i just bought 4 eshop nintendo cards from my local sainsbury's for my new 3ds handheld console.

3x £25.00 and 1x £15.00 (i have the receipts for them)

on the nintendo e shop store code page the codes are supposed to be 16 characters in length.

all my cards only have 8 character codes though 😕

i have contacted nintendo about it but have yet to get a reply.

could i go back to sainsbury's and get a refund? i was going to take my 3ds to show the issue about needing a 16 character code but i don't think they have wifi as i will need to be online to do so.

thanks in advance.

I think you are trying to redeem the code in the wrong place.

Go to the add funds bit I think.

My son bodged an ecard and shredded the code - under the black strip on the back of the card. I emailed nintendo with a photo of the illegible code, the response was quite slow but when I did get a proper reply they gave me a new code. I was impressed.

Sorry!

I just checked a code I picked up online from CDkeys and it was 16 as well.

I know I had a problem in the past trying a game code in a funds code slot.

Take em back to Sainsbury's.

Buy em online from CDkeys- cheaper.

🙂
