Ok so I've been pro but I'm not these days but just wondering on average how many camera bodies do you use day to day and are they the same type or different?
Andy
I use two camera bodies at most gigs I shoot as I dont like to change lenses in dark/dusty venues.Plus the bigger gigs have a first 3 songs rule so it saves me time fiddling about trying to swap a wide for a telephoto or whatever. both are Nikon bodies.
Two. Usually because one does something the other doesn't. Speed/video.
Sometime just one if I'm lugging other stuff like tripods/ lights and don't need the fps aspect.
i always have a back-up body in my kit and just flog the previous body when i get a new one. i don’t have 2 digital backs though as that £6-£20k tied up and a high mp dslr acts as a back-up instead.
it does mean the second body sits there unused for a year or 2 but that’s just a cost of doing business and in the big scheme of things i view them as a consumable as they are usually superseded in a couple of years.
I'm no where near a pro, but I've done one shoot in the Lakes for a client where I borrowed a friends body. It was an absolute godsend in appalling conditions and I can definitely see the appeal of not needing to swap lenses all the time. Looking forward to the day when I can justify having a second body...
