2002 Passat 212k
OSF hard brake pipe union is seized onto the nut at the union with the flexi pipe.
As I turn the nut the hard line turns with it. So far been wobbling it with lots of low effort on the 11mm spanner . Used some penetrating oil and wd40. 1 hour of wobbling later and it wont budge , Need to replace the flexi hose as it failed its MOT on about 8 things and this is this last job to do and I'm flummoxed.

Is the steel line needing replacement? I ended up just replacing flexis as well last time as everything was so corroded together. Not entirely helpful maybe but it was a cheap fix for a pain in the arse problem.

steel line is fine , its the flexi thats perished abit.
The hard line can be replaced but it runs fron the ABS pump across the bulkhead and under the steering rack.
If I give it any force i know exactly whats going to happen . The steel line will twist and snap , leaving me car less and its 28 miles to work.

Same on an Astra in May, I had to replace the steel pipe, but couldn't split the flexi from the old one, so just replaced the whole assembly, cost about £16 from Euro car parts. 😉

If you can get access to both sides of the brake nut then try and give it repeated percussive taps on opposite sides at the same time with two small hammers, this may break the corrosion bond between the brake nut/hard line and the flex hose.

Theres just enough "slack" steel pipe to cut it at the nut, then re-flare it with a new one. Been there, done that!

Am I understanding correctly- is the steel line seized onto its own nut?
