I've been noticing this a few times now and others seem to be getting the same as me when they're replying.

Enter used to be 'new line' but now enter is send.... then starting a new message ....

I think someone may need to have a little peek.

Noticed that yesterday. I'll try shift + enter next time but it was just enter for new line before

Yeah. I just noticed this. Have ended up spamming people with several messages when all I wanted to do was start a new para in the same message! 🙄

Sometimes it's Shift, sometimes it's Ctrl (looking at you Teams).

Shift+Enter for me on Windows to get a new line in Teams.
I've never tried Ctrl + enter.
Or use the editing symbol (pen with letter A next to it) & nothing gets sent until you hit the send arrow.

Think it's in the Classwork box of Teams for Education. Inconsistent at any rate.

Ah! Just hit this exact problem replying to a private message on Android. So what's the answer?

Ha, never used shift + enter on Teams, always used Alt + enter (like in Excel)

Facebook is a pain in the willy for this. If you're creating a new post then Enter works as you'd expect and Shift-Enter submits the post. If you're replying to an existing post however, the behaviour is reversed.
