I am a bit of a wuss when it comes to watching young children being needlessly butchered, smashed or mangled.

My wife likes watching Pride of Britain as it tells inspiring stories.

I watched the first bit and they showed some nice little girls being lovely before smashing them to bits with a car and dragging the mangled remains around the street.

My wife explained that it was lovely because the girl got better, except she didn't. The award was for her sister who continues to take care of her.

I have no issue at all with awarding the sister something for what she does but did it required a full gorefest reconstruction to tell us she was hurt when hit by a car?

I guess I am just getting soft in my old age and look forward to live fire and motors at next years poppy parade.

Grumble over.

Yeah I find some of the background stories hard to watch but surely that makes it more meaningful. All we have to do is watch it. They have to live it. Peeves me more that they've squeezed every z lister celeb they can find into that room! Not many of them have done anything inspirational, flogging their arses on TV does not constitute bravery.

I agree about the z listers but that it a lot of 'popular' tv anyway.

I am not sure a graphic reconstruction of a 5 year old girl getting crushed between a Land Rover and a Nissan Micra makes it more meaningful than an explanation.

I must admit to being quite squeamish. My wife laughs when I turn away during casualty but I still demand the camera to photo my ankle when I ****ted it.

My reasoning is that I want to know about my ankle and I will never realistically remember it with 40mg of morphin and a recent painful distracting injury.

I try to post up the best pics here for those who do like gore.*

Yes, I am a hypocryt, but it that a bad thing?
