I've just bought a pressure washer for our patios. I'd also like to use it to clean the car occasionally, anyone else do this? If so is there any special chemical/detergent I should get to use with it?

Thank you.

Use something like traffic film remover, Autoglym do a good one - Heavy Duty TFR

You can use a TFR through it which will help to prewash.

Jump on detailingworld.co.uk to have a look at the reviews of other stuff like foam lances that can work with it and help washing the motor.

I've just got some bug and tar remover stuff from Halfords. I give those difficult to remove sploges a good squirt and the alloys a good soaking with some alloy wheel cleaner, let it marinate for 5 mins or so and then my piddly little £30 Halfords own brand jet washer seems to do a cracking job of removing all but the most stubborn bits. I usually give those bits a go with a sponge before a final rinse off. Not a concourse job by any means, but plenty clean enough. Having said that I've recently discovered my local team of Poles at a local car park and they do a cracking job and for the sake of a fiver I'm not sure I'll ever clean another car again.

Don't let the TFR dry on the plastic bits. Stains quite badly.

Never worked very well for me tbh. I only ever jetwash the car to remove mud.
