Looking for a precision screwdriver set.

Not wanting to spend crazy money, budget about £20.

There's a lot of stuff on Ebay and Amazon for that price but they are 100 piece sets and the like and might be absolute tat.

Any recommendations?

Not the best of the best but for quality & price combined Halfords Advanced every time for me. Lifetime guarantee on everything also.

£12.50 + 15% off right now with a code!

That's a Torx set?

Yeah, just noticed that!! Weirdly doesn't look like they do a normal "Advanced" set, and everything else looks shite!! Oh well, as you were 😂

EDIT: although this is probably OK for a fiver 🤷‍♂️  https://www.halfords.com/tools/hand-tools/screwdrivers-and-hex-keys/halfords-6-piece-precision-screwdriver-set-628822.html

Anyway.

Wera are well regarded and in budget.

Wera. When it come to hand tools in general Germany brands are good.

one of the best tools i bought was a small set of half decent screwdrivers in their own box. Seemed extravagant at the time but it has paid back - need a driver? just grab the box and I know one will be the right one, no slipping or cursing knackered screw heads. No rooting around in the main tool box

just the joy of screwing

Clever design means you have to replace one bit to obtain another from the handle, thereby never losing a bit

wera looks great and halfords looks just fine too.  Those 100 piece sets with replaceable bits are nothing like as nice to use as individual screwdrivers at that size, especially when you need to reach into something a long way to get to the screw

That Wera set looks good but it doesn't go down to PH#000, which I wanted.

I was gifted an ifixit kit, it's been pretty bloody handy and the bits are not made of cheese...

https://store.ifixit.co.uk/products/essential-electronics-toolkit

£26 but lifetime warranty and goes down to ph000

Came to recommend the ifixit kit and am too slow. Wera kit is another great recommendation.

I've got two, one set of draper ones with common torx, posi, philips, flat, Japanese sizes that do 90% of tasks.

And a "SGODDE 69 piece" bit set off amazon that has every conceivable 5-point security micro torx and tri tipped .001 screw driver needed to do really niche jobs.

That should cover everything until the day when I come across a weird screw that's at the bottom of a deep well.

Well against my better judgement I stumbled across this

Xiaomi Electric Screwdriver

Over budget but looks a really neat gadget.

It will probably be a bit crap though!

Kamasa do a set for that sort of money. They seem to be nice and accurately made.

I bought 3 Bergeon watchmakers screwdrivers for adjusting musical instruments. Pricey (about £12 each) but they are lovely to use and have good tips (including the spares provided). Outside your price point for a full set but as they say "buy cheap buy twice". I don't anticipate having to buy replacements for these.

I'd say buy something of Wera quality or better.

The sub £10 sets are generaly complete junk, the tips round off or the shaft ends up spinning in the handle for anything more than extremely casual use.

Stiff screw in a laptop for example, forget it, you'll end up grinding up the screw head and the screwdriver tip, and then you're well stuffed.

Vessel do a rather nice set from Amazon UK for £15; I have them myself - the silicon rubber cushion is genius.

Off topic but this is a really handy little set too, I only bought it for torx heads, but I've used the other 'weird' ones on occasion too, like when the switch on my kettle went wonky, but the screws were those tri-star mercedes badge type screws, and the even weirder double pronged ones, but I can't remember where they came in handy.
