I'm off skiing to La Plagne and wondered about pre-booking ski hire. My emails are filled with offers from Snowbrainer and the like offering what look to be good savings. Has anyone got any experience of this or other firms? Will I get the same kit as turning up in resort? Or crash in a pile of poorly maintained yesteryear bits?

I've used Intersport several times in La Plagne, Les Arcs and other French ski resorts and always had great kit and service. The one time I went with someone else due to a mate booking it, it was less than good so I always stick with Intersport now.

Always had my own boots and I do book top of the range ski package though and have had brand new skis on a couple of occasions as well. Never had any problems swapping equipment if I wasn't happy with it or just fancied trying something else. Never really compared prices to be honest so wouldn't know if they are more or less expensive than anyone else.

Where in La Plagne? I think is the question really if in La Plagne itself then plenty of shops to choose from. If your at Aime 2000 etc then worth getting stuff pre-booked close to your accommodation as it's easy to swap boots etc if the don't fit...

But yes, we didn't pre-book once (Intersport) and used the local shop and it was a bit more expensive than the online price.

Also although the website seems to have different levels of kit quality they seem to just give you whatever when in the shop so think I just book the cheapest kit now.

Intersport here too, never had any issues at all, always good kit, reasonably priced, and a few discounts flying around too if you look for them.

Inter sport you can use code telegraphski and you get 5% off. If you’re skiing 7 days you also get the 7th day free.

Intersport or Skiset always been ok for me. Last time I used Rental Republic. They bring the stuff to your accomodation so no need to queue at the rental shop. Brilliant service.
