You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
There for a weekend break in a few weekend's time. With a group of 50 years olds (it's a combined HTF did we all end up being 50!? weekend)
There will of course be a certain amount of beer and we have some ideas of where we need to visit for them; but with the group then departing to various locations across the globe on Sunday at various times, I will be in Prague for most of Sunday afternoon feeling distinctly not like having any beer, but with time on my hands.
Thoughts? Have been twice before so the castle / St Vitus / astronomical clock etc have all been seen but will be seen again anyway. Where else.
Also best route from airport to the city centre..... underground, and remind me how it works?
getting in from the airport - it depends where you want to get to!
You just buy a ticket from the machine (get the expensive one which is a quid or 2), validate it when you get on the bus, and it's valid for all forms of transport.
Bus 100 goes to the end station for line B, and Bus 119 used to take you to Dejvicka which is on line A. It presumably still does, although Dejvicka is no longer the last stop. So just see which stop is nearest your hotel. The line B option will take slightly longer.
If I was hungover and with a spare afternoon in Prague I might:
Go up Petrin hill which is very central (near that little Eiffel tower thing, there's a funicular up the hill if you can't face the walk) - there are some nice gardens and good views over the city, and you can stroll back down past the castle
Go to Divoka Sarka which feels like you're out in the countryside, and is actually on the 119 route to the airport- https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g274707-d2028581-Reviews-Divoka_Sarka-Prague_Bohemia.html
Check out the National Gallery and/or Dox for some modern art, which are handily reasonably close to each other
Although actually I would probably get the metro to Hurka and do a walk back towards town that looks a bit like this - again, you'd think you were out in the country somewhere

Or you could go and see the other castle, Vysehrad, which is also nice but less busy than the main one 🙂
Here's a guide to getting from the airport. We always use public transport, quick and cheap.
Afternoon to kill, try the furnicula railway up to the Petrin tower. Great view then walk back down tbrough the park. Maybe have just the one beer at Beer garden Petrin 🍺
Try La Bottega Bistroteka for a great brunch option. If irs a Sunday definitely book online.
We did the e-scooter city tour which was a fab tour of the lesser visited areas.
