The usual power tool filth merchants Screwfix and Toolstation seem to have shunned Bosch from their catalog of dreams.

Anyone know why?

There's loads of Bosch stuff in Screwfix.. What makes you think they've shunned it?

EU Import?

Having just bought new bushes for my Einhell sliding saw, I hope this isn't an issue. £8 part, £16 of shipping & fees and a Greman website not keen on selling to UK.

Most of my kit is Bosch now.

From 01/01/22 products that used to have CE markings need to have a UKCA mark as well. Blame you know what.
May be a delay getting all the paper work ready, or they may just not bother and not sell in the UK.

Just checked online and you’re right. Could have sworn the paper catalogue was very light on Bosch. Maybe I was mixing up different editions of the Toolstation one which is definitely light on Bosch.

Hmmmmmm, just checked Toolstation online too and then now have Some Bosch stuff too.

Maybe they were just constrained for a while so left out of the books of dreams, but now are ok?

I work in the warehouse of depravity
The move away from Bosch is probably trade led. The pros want Makita or de walt / Millwaki mostly so stocking lines that are out of favour costs money
Stock holding, warehouse space, advertising etc
So why stock it if its not sellimg

I'm no tradie, but being a landlord and renovator, I work alongside quite a few. Some guys buying their own kit are wary of Bosch since they adopted fittings like Starlock and X-Lock. More expensive consumables from way fewer stockists does not make a great selling point, also batteries more expensive. I have drill, impact and multitool in Bosch and everything else random makes bought on the day I needed the kit.

Have a 36 v sds Bosch hammer drill, switch is not working. New one will cost 120 quid as it has some electronic add ons, that's 1/3 of the price of a new one. Picked up a second hand one from the trade counter, 35+vat its the one without the chisel function and my 36v batteries fit😁 That's the 2nd Bosch gun with the switch failing.

Screwfix always used to have Bosch hammer drills on offer in their flyers. I guess most of their consumer customer base aren't that bothered about cost of parts / reliability as the drills probably barely get used.

Lots of Bosch on screwfix.fr

I wanted to buy some Makita stuff the other day: none on screwfix.fr unlike screwfix.com
.
Went elsewhere.
