It absolutely devastates me to be organising a joint funeral for my mother and her husband. They were killed in a motorcycle accident in Northumberland.
We are planning a significant send off, with many of their friends riding with the cortege.
Due to covid friends who arent able to attend due to isolation and travel restrictions gave asked if I can send some sort of footage of the cortege and escort. As you can imagine this is a big thing in their world
Given the scale of it I'm sure it will be of interest to photographers, and if they could share some of the images with family and friends it would be much appreciated.
If anyone on here has an interest or is on a forum that may be a good place to share some more information please do shout out
I've never organised a funeral before let alone one with around 200 motorcycles attending - so any thoughts and pointers gladly accepted
If anyone knows of any other forums to share details on such as photography or drone enthusiasts please do let me know
I know a photographer/licensed drone operator in Leeds who might be interested but you'd need to pay him.

People shouldn't really be flying drones over stuff like that unless they're licensed/insured so enthusiasts might not be suitable.
Strange when two slightly different albeit two wheeled worlds meet (I met your mother a couple of times at brough rallies whilst looking after my elderly father).
Just willing on any stwers to go that extra mile if they think they can help or know anyone that can help, the OPs mother was a truely wonderful woman & the family could do with some help at this difficult time.
Edit: I've realised I might know someone, just need to work out how to contact them.
Can't help I'm afraid, but I am sorry for your loss.
PM me - I can possibly help. As per grum there are limitations as to what hobbyists can do on the drone side however depending on the route it may be possible to get fully legal footage - particularly flying under the BMFA's Article 16 rules. I am insured as well for non-commercial work and I wouldn't dream of charging so may just be able to do something.
I could take some normal photos also all depending on date etc
PM me if you want - I have just been thru this
Key things for me. make it what they would want. Shift as much of the load onto others as you can IE ask a biker pal to organise the bike escort, You make a speech if yo want but don't if you don't want. If they were funny people then get some humour in there - tell funny tales about them, make some black jokes ( I did) find appropriate music
There are no right and wrong answers to this. its only whats right for them and you and what they would have wanted. Ignore folk who say " you must do this or that" there is no "ought" either
Be kind to yourself, palm off as much stuff as you can, try not to get stressed
Again - PM me if you want to know more about what I did and how if did it
Hope OP doesn't mind me letting people know their funeral is on 2nd August.
Thank you, and yes it's on the 2nd of August.
Both families are working with key people from several of the main bike clubs they were members of to organise the escort and liaising with the police etc
The world they lived in was one of motorcycle rallying from the 1960's until the very end, their friends are such a lovely group of people who have been equally devastated by this loss. As families their live and support through all of this has been a tremendous comfort. They are overseeing the escort as they have far more experience than I.
Glad you met her Dickyboy she was an incredible woman, I need to pull my finger out if I'm going to become half the woman she was she achieved so much and inspired so many.
I shall send some PM's shortly
