I've been looking for an iPhone and had a couple of ppl (same person?) offering 32GB 5s for sale.
First one offered it for £95 claiming could get more but wanted a quick sale. Scandinavian sounding name, claimed to have been alerted by a 'friend' on the forum. Wouldnt take Paypal, wanted cash transfer. Offered collection from Helston. I offered to collect, he said he wouldn't be there so would post. I offered once more to collect the following week, he offered instead to take £60 bank transfer as a downpayment and then the remainder on delivery (tracked postage). I said no thanks.
Now today I have another offer of 32GB 5s ... Feels like Groundhog Day
Anyone else had phishermen like this on WTD? Would urge ppl to encourage users to respond first on the ad, then via email as many do. Community is built on trust and all that...

There are some absolute piss takers on the classifieds.
A guy posted a wanted ad last week for something I might be selling. I didn't recognise his username so did a quick browse of his history.
Not only is he a 100% classifieds only user, it also seems to be his own personal eBay with bike related sales making up less than 10% of the stuff he buys and sells on here.

Unfortunately for said thieving scum I live (fairly) nearby and have family down there we visit, so the bluff was immediately called when offered to show up and collect.

You could always ask for the forum name of the 'friend', and/or stipulate that 100% classifieds users aren't dealt with..

Funny how karma will bite criminals back when they least expect it.

@Kryton, if you want to sell it get it un-locked. As the original purchaser/contact holder its easy to do. Did that with my 4S which I still use as a backup/loaner.
