I've saw in the past ebay sellers reluctant to post to Italy. I've been asked to post an item and wondered if there was any particular problems with doing so? Anyone had problems or indeed success? Scurrilous ebay rumourmongering?

I've posted two boxes of lego there in the past, bloke was a nutter, even researched the area I live in... Though he did like it and only said nice things. Everything arrived as I had sent it, though apparently I'd included the wrong shade of orange technic connector part number 234091-87x-7214, and did I have the same piece in DK orange.

There is a lot of reported problems of stuff going missing to Italy. Not sure if it's something with the postal service or a common scam.

Another reason might be they are very strict on counterfeit goods as lots of their exports are designer/fashion goods. So sellers who might be selling things that are not quite legitimate won't send there.

eg if you are spotted with a fake expensive Italian handbag then you will get in trouble or if you drive there in a fake Ferrari kit car it will be impounded.
